I think its great. The kids are all very well rounded, if you believe what you see in the specials. They have no debt. They do tons of stuff as a family and all seem happy.

Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is. This is how they as a family chose to live their lives. They seem like awell rounded happy family. As I said in the last thread, it's reallly not that much different from the really religious jews I grew up with and my father's really religious cousins. The rabbi that married us has 13 kids of his own, and comes from a family of 18 siblings himself.
The thread must have been before they knew about this 19th pregnancy as they just announced it last week.

Most of the older kids help though. She says how the girls make most of the meals.
I did notice the last time (the 18th kid) that on the Today show the oldest (who just got married) was surprised that she was pregnant again and did NOT look happy at all. I think that now that he has gotten a little taste of the world he realizes how much responsibility he had as a child himself.

Oh, believe me, to each his own but I am just responding to the last pregnancy and what the dr. said to them and how they said this was probably their last baby because of the circumstances.
Oh I totally understand what you were saying. I would probably listen to a dr. if he told me no more kids now after my third is born

ya know this family used to bother me but i kinda like them now. they can afford to have these kids and hello we aren't paying for it. the kids seem to have good values and michelle and jim bob seem like decent human beings so if they are bringing all these well mannered, valued taught, kind hearted, pleasant children in the world. i say more power to them and keep on going!!!!!

Ya know what, I agree with you. She is a good mother whose skill is delegating. I learned alot by watching this show, I am using her tactics and having 19 kids...ugh no. Just her discipline methods were really good!!!

I agree...
I don't think there are any issues with what they are doing.
Compared to some of the spoiled bratty children I've seen, the Duggars are doing a much better job at raising 18 well mannered, respectful kids than some people are with just one or two.
