Thanks for the info. The one is 7 years old though and only time will tell if the increase comes into effect and how it all pans out. Business owners have a different perspective of this though as I put up 2 articles in the other thread.

If businesses cannot survive paying people a human wage then they should not employ humans.

And they are not and that is why many human jobs are on the way out.

And wheel wrights, and horse drawn carriage builders, and Pony Express riders, etc, etc...

You do realize that a LOT of humans are involved in inventing, building, shipping, maintaining, etc non-humans.

A robot has already taken over a humans job at Stop and Shop. Self check out has taken over human’s jobs.

This is a crap argument. A human still has to stand there and monitor it. I see the way their beady little eyes scrutinize me to make sure I'm paying for my 5 cent bag...

Untrue, people have lost their jobs. I have spoken to the cashiers in Walmart and they said quite a few either were laid off or their hours cut. Target is another place that cut their employees down to almost nothing.

Well thank God for your anecdotal "research" at BOTH Walmart AND Target! The vast amount of data that you have been able to collect from those "few cashiers" is so helpful. You really have proved us all wrong. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's not credible at all. In real life, target and walmart have gone up in sales considerably, due to curbside pickup and pandemic shopping. So much so that Target has already announced they will no longer open on Thanksgiving because they dont need the sales. I have a SIL who works for human resources at Target. They are hiring like mad and I can barely make it through one aisle without bumping into an employee.

Interesting as one of my friends who works full time was just cut down to 1 day a week, yes ONE. Single mom who needs a job. Not sure where this is, but this one, in a popular location always hires before the holidays and then cuts down on employees.

Maybe she's like you and they can't fckn stand her so they are doing the best to get her out.

Wow they are trying to get me out of my job? Well I would have never guessed by all the compliments I have been getting by my bosses lately.
