Hey, here's a thought....
Do you think they asked her on world TV to see if she would lie? I'm sure they have ti down what she really weighs, so if she lied, that would affect her credibility and she wouldn't win.
It may be another way to prove that she really does, in fact, weight 155 lbs.... hmmmm.

Completely off topic but I think she's OK. Average looking at best. Not looking at her body (which looks thin to me & should at that weight for that height, since I've been that weight and am 3" shorter and don't look it at all b/c everyone carries weight differently) I think her face isn't attractive. I'm prob going to go to hell for saying that but I had to. She's ugly for a beauty queen.

I weigh between 147-150 on any given day at 5 ft 8. I dont look even close to that, but I dont doubt that she is what the reports say she is. Good for her.

I agree with you- as I said before I am 5 9 myself- and I know what I weigh and what my body looks like.
It just seems off

When I was 155 and more muscular, I looked much healthier than I do with only a 5-7 pound differential. Sometimes it really does make a difference.

I think it's funny that this barely caused an uproar. Last time this happened, they vowed to stip a winner of its crown!
Venezuela's Alicia Machado was the clear favorite for the crown as she sashayed and charmed her way to the audience's and judges' hearts on pageant night. Shortly after her crowning, Venezuela's 4th Miss Universewas asked what she would do now that she was Miss Universe…Without hesitation, she replied, "EAT, EAT, EAT!!" She would later allegedly gain more weight reaching an all time high of 150 lbs. which led to speculations of stripping Alicia of her crown. Undaunted, Alicia succumbed to the media blitz and crowned her successor a year later 10 to 15 lbs heavier than on the night she herself captured the Universe.

Shortly after her crowning, Machado was asked what she would do now that she was Miss Universe. She immediately replied in Spanish "Eat! Eat! Eat!". The Kellogg Company, breaking a contract, withdrew the planned production of "Special K" breakfast cereal boxes featuring Machado's photo. Donald Trump referred to her publicly as an "eating machine," insisting that winners of the title have an "obligation to stay in a perfect physical state." Finally, when Machado had gained a total of 40 pounds, Pageant officials insisted that she lose 27 pounds in two weeks or lose her title. With the help of aerobics instructor Edward Jackowski, (who determined that Machado's ideal weight was somewhere between 125 and 130, not the 118 pounds she had been when she won the title), she managed to lose weight and retain her crown.

I think she looks great!!! My friend is about 5'9 and weighs around 160- she's a size 4 and has a kick arse body. Everyone wears their weight differently; what works for one person may not work for another.
I am 5'9" and when I met DH I weighed 150 pounds and was a size 4 or 6, but I lifted weights and have a very dense body. Even now, although I weigh 175 -180 pounds I am still "only" a size 12.
Weight is not all of the story, muscle mass has a lot to do with a persons weight and if they work out regularly they will have more muscle mass - hence they will weigh more.

I think what is a bigger point is that someone who is 5'9" and not under 120 pounds (whether she lied or the pagent fudged numbers or whatever - it's more of a psychological point) WON!
5'9" and under 120 (BMI 17.7) is unrealistic for most women and that is what most of the winners of all pagents in previous years have been. Maybe finally some organizers/execs are seeing the global problems they cause by giving women sometimes unrealistic, absolute ideas of what is beautiful (eating disorders, low self-esteem, neurosis, low self-image).
That does not mean someone who is 5'9" and under 120 is not beautiful; it's just that when young women see the same body type over and over (as we have for years in these pagents), it appears to be what should be normal for beautiful

Couldn't agree more with the previous poster. Women have it tough. We are supposed to keep ourselves looking perfect in order to fit the ideal. That's crap. I think it sends the wrong message that you have to be painfully thin to be beautiful and that's not the case.
And, Trump can kiss my ever lovin size 14 azz!

She's gorgeous. It's definately possible that that's her real weight. If she's toned (which it looks like she is) she would weigh more because muscle weighs more.

Miss Velenzuela and Miss Italia are two COMPLETELY different pageants (in case that was not blatantly obvious)
in Venezuela, they are far stricter, b/c beauty pageants are to the women what sports are to men, a way out. Miss Venezuela has gone on to win Miss Universe quite often, making it a "thing" to have a women be in contention for it there...the pressure is very high...higher than perhaps other countries.
I am surprised this thread is still buzzing....
