Miss Velenzuela and Miss Italia are two COMPLETELY different pageants (in case that was not blatantly obvious)
in Venezuela, they are far stricter, b/c beauty pageants are to the women what sports are to men, a way out. Miss Venezuela has gone on to win Miss Universe quite often, making it a "thing" to have a women be in contention for it there...the pressure is very high...higher than perhaps other countries.
I am surprised this thread is still buzzing....
Oh no, I completely agree. But I was comparing Miss Universe, who happened to be Miss Venezuela, and the last time a contestant weighed in the 150lb. range.
It's great to see that it's a lot more acceptable now.
