I went through school with the mom. We graduated together. I was laughing at the quote her mother made about them being a puppy-doggy kind of family. They were not snake loving types from what I remember.

Small world, DH & I went to school with her DH!
We spoke with his mother (the paternal grandparents) earlier. They still live across the street from where DH grew up. They are all just thankful the baby is OK.  It is such a random and shocking thing.
