Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess that DD watches my TV shows with me -- Survivor, Grey's, ER...
I confess that the dog licks her paci - and I don't always see it.
I confess that I leave her in the high chair while I make her food.
I confess that some things I won't confess.

Should we not leave them in the highchair when we make their food?
And to the last confession ---

I don't use the shopping cart thingy either. I also can't remember where his vitamins are or the last time I gave them to him.

I can top you all.
Ava stood up and peed in the tub the other day.
Instead of getting her out and re-washing her, I let her play for a few more minutes to avoid a screaming tantrum!!!!
P.S. Please don't tell my Mom!!

Re: Mommy Confessions....
i keep my 5 month old up till 10-11pm so that we can both sleep in.
i yell at dh when he's supposed to be playing with ds but he's really watching t.v. but i do it all the time when he's not home.
i don't sterilize things very often.
i give ds his zantac & vitamin from the dropper and put it back into the bottle without washing it.
i spend WAY too much time on here while i should be cleaning or playing with ds.
i liked reading all of your confessions.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess : I love this thread! I confess : DS is asleep in his carriage right now because he fought bed time sooooo bad. I confess: I will put him in the exasaucer so I can throw a load of wash in or simply have "me" time. I confess: I let the inlaws dog kiss him as he laughs hysterical. I confess: I do use the shopping cart cover. Hmmmm now, rethinking it.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I have another one I dont let my 11yr old do certain things or I make her keep it a secret so the 6yr old doesnt throw a fit I know its completely WRONG but if I can avoid the crying fit I will do whatever it takes ie: 6yr old "I dont want Juliet to go swimming at her friends house,or to wear her hair in a ponytail,or to have pizza for dinner" then I tell 11yr old to lie and say she didnt

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I too forgot to give my DS his vitamins.
I can sometimes be a screaming mom. I work hard not to but it happens occasionally.
I think I look foward to watching Ben10 and Spongebob more than DS.
I find playing parking lot (where you line up all the toy cars in a row) extremely boring but will play it for hours with DS just because it makes him happy.
Sometimes I will skip pages on a super long book at DS bedtime just so I can finish it and get some alone time at night.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess that I spend too much time cleaning rather then playing (about 2hrs every morning. I rather them wreck their rm and play with what ever they want until I get in there to clean it.
I confess I am not afraid of germs, if I came home from the hospital within one day of giving birth I would still take them out.
I confess I don't read as much as I should to them.
I confess I'm a yeller towards my 9yr old (I do feel bad but he should know better)
I confess I don't clean the binki if it fall (unless it fell in mud or something)
I confess I enjoy going to work my 3hrs a wk
I confess I have given my 2 yr old m&ms in the am if food shopping
I have so many more but I'll stop hear.

I confess that DH and I have changed DD in our empty trunk one too many times instead of looking for a bathroom
I confess that I let DD sleep in my bed so that I dont have to hear her cry and I can try to get some sleep
I confess that I buy DD way too many clothes

Re: Mommy Confessions....
Awesome thread Rach!
I confess that in the morning, if Megan wakes up earlier then I think she is supposed to, I let her babble and play around while I get a few extra zzzz's.
I let her drink her milk in front of the wonder pets so I can come on here and check the boards in the morning.
I dont get crazy over germs either. Shes a thumb sucker and I would be cleaning her hands every second of the day if I was neurotic over it.
I love to play with her but I HATE playing with her toys with her for some reason. I have never been into toys. If its fun play or singing or reading, I am fine but I am not good with toys for some reason.
Sometimes I cant wait for the weekend so Daddy can take her out in her push cart just so I can take a shower in peace.
When I go to bed at night, I dont wake up to check on her like I should I guess. I too am afraid of waking her and since we are in the same room, I have to be VERY CAREFUL.
Sometimes I depend on einstein dvds a little too much.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
great thread! I have done so many of those things and i'll add a couple:
I confess i have cut DS skin while clipping his nails and made him bleed - more then once
I confess i changed DS the other day in the back of my car, with the door open (and it was chilly outside) b/c i didnt want to put him down on a changing table in the restroom
I confess i drove 30 min out of the way to BRU b/c DS fell asleep in the car and i didn't want to wake him
I confess i rock my DS to sleep for naps b/c i love how he cuddles and looks at me like i am his world

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess that I spraywhipped cream right into his mouth
I confess that he is the MASTER of this house
I confess that I feel sooo guilt in missing so much time with him in his first year that I sometimes keep him up really late or wake him up early so that on my good days I can spend as much time as possible and can talk myself into believing that I am "making up" for the days I missed

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess that I don't always give the boys a bath at night bc I'm too tired after work. Those nights, they'll get the baby wipes rub down.
I confess that sometimes I just give Nate PB&J for dinner so I can get him to bed faster.
I confess that I rather be at work sometimes.
I confess that I sometimes count the minutes til bedtime after being home all alone with the boys.
I confess that when I don't have time to do their laundry, I'll just buy clothes on the way home from work.
I confess that I give Nate the paci when he whines for it even though I fuss at DH for doing the same.
I confess that when I hear one of them crying I ignore it with hopes that they go back to sleep.xz
I confess that I didn't feel guilty for going back to work and didn't have any real anxiety about not being with them.
I confess that I have no desire to be a SAHM bc when we both work DH definitely helps out more and is an equal parter.

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess about the shopping cart cover and the place mat at the restaurant. Ok well the place mat is really DD's thing she doesn't like them even at home.
I confess that we originally said that DD would watch no more than an hour of TV a day (1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night) and that has gone by the way side
I confess that I have created a little DIVA.
I confess that I too am guilty of loving being at work even though I no longer am happy at my job.
I confess that I have more days that I feel like I am not a good mother, wife or teacher than I have days that I feel like I am
I confess that I just can't do it all and that I will for go the cleaning just to have some me time because I just can't

Re: Mommy Confessions....
I confess that I don't always strap DS in the changing table when I go across the room to get his clothes.
I confess that I yell at DH for doing the above.
I confess that sometimes I wake DS up from his nap early because I want to play with him.
But my biggest confession? The one I NEVER thought I would say outloud?
I love being back at work.
I'm finding the balance of being a working mom much easier than being a SAHM. I feel like the time I spend with him is so much better because it's not ALL the time.
And I confess that even typing that made me feel guily.
