This may be a stupid question....but, after washing babies clothes can you put them in the dryer??

Will they shrink?

Some might shrink, but honestly, it's so hard to find the time and room to hang them. Maybe you have the time now, but once the baby is throwing up all over himself, you will look for shortcuts.

We dry them fully, unless they are special clothes. (ie: suits, thin team jerseys, etc.)

I use drying racks for 90% of DS clothing. It does shrink esp cotton things like Carters or Gerber brands. It all dries within 24 hrs.

I have always washed DD's clothes in cold water and dried them on low heat and haven't had any issues with things shrinking.

Re: Mommy-to-be has a question about washing clothes??

We wash DD's clothes on the delicate cycle, warm/cold rinse and have rarely had anything shrink. We dry on low or medium heat.

ETA: Some brands are just more prone to shrink, in my experience.

Re: Mommy-to-be has a question about washing clothes??

Yeah.. def air dry! I made that mistake with Kailas clothes and a lot of them shrunk (shrank?)

I use drying racks for a lot of our clothes now.. only thing I dont like is how they are little stiff as opposed to the dryer where they come out nice and fluffy

How about washing then drying, but taking the clothes out before they are fully dry....and then let them air dry until fully dried.

Does that make sense? I wonder if that would work with the shrinkage. Chat Icon

Re: Mommy-to-be has a question about washing clothes??

We dry everything in the dryer. Only major shrinkage occurred on Gerber onesies from what I've noticed.
