moms at or approaching the 6 month and beyond mark....and those who remember
where did my sweet tiny baby go?
I am not prepared for the leaps and bounds he is making and has been making lately.
He just turned five months this weekend and I am just
I feel a TOOTH coming in. a TOOTH. 5 months. a TOOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it. I wanted more time with him before all of this. before he embarked on the rest of his life, marching slowly and steadily away from me and to his future independent self.
he tries to sit up. he tries to move away..leap out of my arms.
why don't they just want to stay there forever
anyone else already marching down the bittersweet road?

Yep, I can't believe how fast it is going this time around. I want time to stand still. I'm not ready for him to grow up this fast.

Yup, been there with DS... he's 2.5 already.
And going through it with DD... she's 3 months right now.
It all goes by shockingly fast. I'm trying to enjoy every second with DD because she will be our last.

Oh, I'm with you. I do not want my baby to grow up.
When he started rolling, I didn't want to encourage it.
Now that he's starting to push up on his knees, I know that cralwing is just around the corner.
He's been drooling for a while, and everything goes in the mouth. But I don't want those teeth to come in. I live his toothless smile.
Whenever I see a post where a mom says, "I can't wait for him/her to ......", I think, "Don't rush it. They only stay babies for such a short time."
Please don't think I'm trying to hold my child back. I'm just trying to savor every moment, every milestone. I love my little boy so much. Watching him grow is so bittersweet.
Mom's were right when they said 6 months is a great age.

Yes but at the same time its amazing seeing all the new things she can do every day! Recognizing songs, clapping hands on cue, knowing her name, giving kisses...she's 7 months and I'm loving this age too!

With the physical development, there also comes cognizant development. Last night, DH bathed T and when he got him out, he only wanted me to hold him When he finally got in my arms he gave me a "kiss" (pressed his open mouth to my face) and put his head on my shoulder. It's absolutely priceless!
While you'll always miss that baby stage, it does keep getting better and better.

Yup! Every day I feel like this!! And it happens so fast!!!
The other day we were in a store and someone had a tiny baby - couldn't have been more then a couple of weeks old and I just thought where is my squishy little boy?!
But, then he smiled at me and laughed when I kissed his belly and I remembered how much fun all the new things are.
But I do miss those little soft cuddles - before he twisted and flailed b/c there was something way more interesting then mommy around.

I love the baby stages- that's why I keep having em.
Every developmental level is amazing- and bittersweet. It's ggod that you take the time to enjoy it because it really does move so quickly.

My DS is 7.5 months and he is crawling now, and he has the funniest temper and even hits my hands away! He is growing up SO fast but I enjoy every minute of seeing him develop.

I know just yesterday I was wishing DD would just want to lay in my arms and snuggle on the couch but instead she wiggles in my arms to try to get away :( DD is only 7 months old, 2 teeth and trying to walk away from me already makes me sad lol

Re: moms at or approaching the 6 month and beyond mark....and those who remember
YES..DS turns 8 months at the end of this week and he has already started pulling himself up onto everything and while I love that he is developing part of me wants to reel him back in and put him back in my womb - but I want to do that with my 4 year old too I play a game with her where I try to squish her down really small so I can fit her back in...she laughs and says "mommy you are so crazy"...
I saw a newborn on the tv this morning and my heart jumped! I guess my family is not complete and I do have a third in me.

Re: moms at or approaching the 6 month and beyond mark....and those who remember
It's hard seeing them grow up, very bittersweet, and it happens all too quickly!
DS was late sitting up, and by the time he could do it, I was so happy for him, because I think he got very frustrated laying down and rolling. Crawling and sitting came together, and he was so delighted with his movement. But when he learned to walk shortly after that, it was hard because he suddenly wanted to constantly go, go, go and not cuddle with Mom so much.
But each age brings beautiful developments and changes. Right now I am marveling at his ability to communicate and do more things. So it is bittersweet, but it's fun too.

It does go fast, but you still get those sweet moments too as they get older.
My almost 2.5 year old woke from a nap on Saturday but wasn't totally awake, so when I went in to get him, sat on the glider. He scrunched up on my chest, behind in the air, and slept for another 30 minutes. It felt like when he was an infant and I loved every second.
And then we went out for some serious bubble mowing.

You could always do what I did and just have another one.
I simply cannot remember the entire newborn stage. I assure you that with each stage he reaches, you will marvel in how wonderful he is.

It's amazing how true this is. Everything thing Luca does is just the BEST thing ever - and the next days he does something even more wonderful. I can't wait to watch Izzie grow and do the same but in all honesty I do find myself treasuring the small moments much more now, since I am not sure if we will be having any other children.

i felt the same way! i was so sad when dd's first tooth came in b.c i thought i would miss her toothless grin!! those little flaps of gums! it's bittersweet as she reaches each milestone! but at the sametime she is even more fun to watch as she gets older! she understands sooooooooo much and can do so many little tricks! and her personality is really starting to show. we laugh all the time and although i miss the newborn/baby stage, i enjoy this stage as well and whatever is to come!
