Moms of 11 month and 1 year old babies
Did anyone have a hard time transitioning to table food? Some things she'll eat, but it will be a few bites and then she sticks her tongue out until it falls off. And if I put something on her high chair to pick up herself and she doesn't like how it feels she automatically won't let me put it near her mouth.
I feel like my baby who never refuses food is suddenly turning into a very picky eater! Any suggestions/hope?

I kept trying and trying and then all of a sudden in one day they just starting eating table foods. I would just keep trying, eventually you will find something she will eat, and then go from there.

I am having the same problem with John but, he 10 months. He hardly will eat table food or baby food...spits it out and still drinks like 28 ounces of formula a day. I am so fed up with it but I realized he really needs his formula and will keep trying. It is very frustrating

She will eat endless amounts of bread, puffs and cheerios and cookies...that's about it
I'll just keep trying. One day she'll have a whole bowl of homemade soup and then the next day if I even bring the spoon near her mouth she pushes it away, and usually on me.

Try peas - that is the first table food DDs really gobbled up. They loved that they could pick them up individually I think. Or, try eating in front of her then "letting" her eat off of your fork.

Re: Moms of 11 month and 1 year old babies
Nikolas is hot and cold with eating table food..overall he does ok, but in general he has become much pickier than he was as a younger baby. Certain things (as you said it's really the textures) he just refuses to let me put near his mouth
for example he absolutely hates pasta of any kind , prepared any way, and I can only guess it's the texture he doesn't like
He LOVES meat.. so I'm good there. He'll eat steak, chicken, turkey, pork, meatballs, even now fish.. he's "ok" with fruit but really bad with veggies.. he'll eat potatoes but thats about it. I still have to give him baby food veggies and sometimes even the fruits because he doesn't like the real kind. (I usually mix the veggies into scrambled eggs and the fruit I'll mix into cereal when he's particularly fussy)
I thought by now he would be a bit better with table foods, but we have some major struggles some nights on what he wants to eat
Meanwhile if you give him the container of cheerios, he would make a meal of that When that honey nut cheerios commercial comes on where everything in the supermarket is cheerios, DH and I say that Niko would be working there someday

Re: Moms of 11 month and 1 year old babies
My 12 month old DD is a grazer. She'll eat table food but she eats such little portions. She can sit in her highchair for 45 minutes and only eat 1/2 of what I had planned for her to eat. Sometimes I think of going back to baby food just so I know she is getting enough nourishment.
