Moms of 2 (daycare related)
Can you please tell me the average cost for 2 children in either a daycare setting, or something more private, like at someones house. Also, if you can let me know how many hours a week that is, that would be great! Thanks!

I only have 1 dc but I overheard a parent of 2 in daycare (FT Mon-Fr)i and they said the price was 2100 at my DS's school.

Usually, the 2nd child is 10% off (which IMO is diddley squat).

Re: Moms of 2 (daycare related)
My center it's $2014 (that's with the discount on the second child) starting Sept 1.
I will tell you it's the cheapest of all of the places I looked at (not the primary reason why I chose it). It's an employee daycare (employees get first priority) that opens up limited spots (there is a long waiting list now) for community members. KA wanted over 2700+ and early drop-off and late pickup is extra. They are opened 7-5:30 and closed Federal holidays. My DC's are there from 8-3:30.
Honestly, if you look at it hourly, we're paying, $6.71 per hour per child for the hours we use or $4.79 per hour per kid from 7-5:30.

Re: Moms of 2 (daycare related)
Most places I looked into gave a discount of 10-20% for the second child. My girlfriend has private daycare and had a similar arrangement with her provider.

Re: Moms of 2 (daycare related)
Holy ****! i wouldn't be able to afford the mortgage!!!! How does everybody do it? I'm not sure it would be worth it for me to work if I had to pay that.

A friend of mine is paying MORE to send her DD to a home based daycare. We are both teachers. Her daycare uses the school calendar. It's a few hundred more a month but it's actually more than that considering it's closed every day the school district is closed. If I need to go to the doc, run my dad to docs (he's disabled) I can do so on my days off and not have to worry about babysitting.

Re: Moms of 2 (daycare related)
In NYC, to use a daycare would be 845 per week for 2 children. So that would be 3,360 per month!
We are lucky that my mom watches them 3 days a week! I do pay her, but not nearly what this would run me! I would just not work!
