Can we talk monitors. What are you using for both kids??? We had the AngelCare on and then a safety first. The safety first gets HORRIBLE static and we can barely hear. I need to get another but I would prefer something to do both at once.

What are you doing??

Edited to say we have the AngelCare not the Summer one

For my older DD we have a Graco (sound only) monitor that has been great all along, no static or anything and I use the Summer Handheld Video for the baby.

If you want, you can get another camera for the summer and just switch back and forth between channels...

We have a FP sounds and lights....real basic since all our bedrooms are close.
It's in Pauls room. We don't use one for Alyson-we sleep with OUR door open so we can hear them (plus 1 dog is always in and out at night)

Re: Moms of 2 or more little ones

I don't have 2, just one, but I do have to say I have the Graco imonitor. It's digital - just the sound/vibration one as the video was a bit Chat Icon for me and I wasn't sure of it's value before DD was born. I have to say I hear her very clearly and I don't ever get my neighbors conversations either... which I think is pretty good considering I live next door from the town's fire cheif and you know they use those radios to communicate. Our's is a small property too, so their house is very close to ours.

We are planning our next one within the next year and my plan is to keep the sound only monitor for DD, then also get the video imonitor for the new baby. I can't see spending the money now, but I can see why a video monitor would have been useful.

I have 2 sets of the FP Lights & Sounds and have one bedroom on channel A and one on channel B. I got some extra handsets on ebay so that I can leave them plugged in in my room and the den, and I have another on battery that I can take outside if I'm gardening or whatever.

They make video sets for 2 rooms and the monitor flips back and forth between the channels, but we have a small house and I can pretty much hear them all over the house without a monitor anyway.

That's my problem. Though my house is not huge, the way that it's situated it's difficult to hear my daughter if she were crying and needed me even if the door was open, so I still need a monitor for her. The kids rooms are across from each other with the nursery being closest to our room. I would have liked to used the one for my dauhter and then changed it to my son's room when I brought him up for the night but that's not going to happen.

So 2 Fisher Price ones do not interfere with each other?

We have a ton of babies around here now and I know if I have my angelcare receiver on but not our monitor I always pick up someone else's kid. Hmmm we might just have to invest in another more expensive one because a propeller is quieter than this Safety 1st one.

I only have one DC, but I totally agree with you, the Safety 1st monitor is AWFUL. I bought it without reading reviews, big mistake. DS actually broke it (he got tall enough to reach where it was mounted over the crib, and fiddled with it till it broke). I was RELIEVED to have the opportunity to get a new one.

The Graco digital video monitor (the iMonitor) is $$$ but let me tell you, this monitor is fantastic. Crystal clear picture, not a drop of static, nothing. The battery pretty much died after a year of use and Graco replaced it for free. Don't know how it works with 2 kids though!!

I've never used a monitor in my house - either audio or visual. The bedrooms are all on the same level of the house (hi-ranch) and ours is right next to their rooms.
