Moms of 2+, please rec your sling
My DD will be 21 months when the baby arrives and I am thinking I will probably need a sling to carry the baby with me everywhere. I have the Bjorn that I am not really a huge fan of, but has anyone used a sling that they loved and was safe?

Mei Tai . I only have on DS...but I absolutely love my Mei Tai wrap. I wear it all day and then slip him in when he's ready for a nap. I get so much done when he's nestled in there. And, it can be used for newborns all the way up.

i felt the sling was a must with a toddler running around and a newborn. it gave me so much more freedom to shop etc... with that said i used the moby and then went to the bjorn later on. i highly recommend both!

I just ordered this after looking at it ... it will be the 5th carrier I've tried
My biggest issue is we are trying to find something both DH (6'5", 200+lbs) and I (5'4") can use without having to adjust a million straps/buckles just to go from one to another. So I had most recently ordered the Moby and thought we'd stick to it because it did fit us both nicely, but WHAT A PITA to wrap So the simplicity of the Mei Tai has me - can't wait for it to arrive and hope it ends up being the right choice (and that I get it in time to still be able to return the Moby!).

Re: Moms of 2+, please rec your sling
I had every intention of using the sling to carry my younger DS around, but I've only had him in it once.
The boys are 20 mos apart and I thought it would work out great, as older DS used to love being in the sling. I have three, Bjorn, one from Pottery Barn and one from Easy Rider, I think??
Well, whenever I wore younger DS in the sling, older DS always wanted to be picked up. Backfired terribly.

Give yourself a couple of days learning and using the Mei Tai before making a decision. I was so intimidated by it at first. Now, it's like second nature. I just use regular knots, not a square knot like suggested. DH uses it too. It's a complete custom fit each time anyone puts it on. I like that the baby is in the upright position..it's best for keeping the airway open and it is much like an external uterus!!!

GREAT post...I've been wondering the same. I reallllllly hope baby likes a sling b/c it just seems like the best option when chasing after/playing with older DD.
