Moms of kids with food allergies
Has anyone had their DC tested and allergy testing come back negative, but test positive at a later date?
The reason I ask is because DS is allergic to dairy, soy, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, and I also think sesame. All of the allergy testing (skin & blood) came back negative. BUT if I eat any of the foods from above, he had a reaction (eczema on the face, mucousy stools, blood in stool).
I'm just wondering if he's will maybe outgrow these allergies, specifically the nuts, peanuts & seeds. Or if anyone can share their experience, that would be helpful.

Yes, this year DS tested positive to oats, which has never turned up in past years. He's always been severe to dairy, and that got worse between ages 1 & 2, and has been the same ever since. 3 different allergists have told us that kids with dairy allergies usually outgrow it by age 7.

Re: Moms of kids with food allergies
DS broke out in hives after accidentally sampling my PB&J sandwich when he was 14 months.
We had him tested immediately following the allergic reaction (blood first). Came back with allergies to egg white, egg yolk, and peanut allergy.
Then had him skin tested for the egg white/yolk since he never had a visible allergy. Came back positive.
Just took him today to the allergist for a follow up (2.5). The numbers on his bloodwork went down egg yolk, white, and peanut. Egg yolk and white was enough where he should be considered not allergic. Peanut was in a gray area where it could go either way. So allergist skin tested him.
He tested positive to peanut, almond, cashew, and walnut. Negative for egg yolk and egg white. Allergist said not to give straight egg on my own yet, but to come back in a few weeks with a scrambled egg and have DS eat it in the office. He said it is possible to have a negative test result but still display allergic reactions.
I am reallllly happy with our allergist, if you want his info let me know.
eta - I EBFd DS from birth until a year. And he never displayed any allergies until he started table foods.
