Mom's of one year olds
My DS turned one on February 28th. I am just curious to see what all the little ones are up to.
My DS was 23.9 lbs and 31 inches long.
I weaned him from nursing the day he turned one. He took to whole milk without a problem.
He is not walking yet, but is cruising around. He eats everything and is overall a happy baby.
Where is everyone else's little one at.

Re: Mom's of one year olds
DS turned one in January. He is running around (started walking the weekend of his 1st bday) & is becoming a pickier eater. We are having some nap issues off/on not wanting to take his 2nd nap. He drinks milk during the day and still BF in AM and before bed (I will wean once we deal with some early AM wake issues) Overall he is a happy guy who is definitely not shy like his momma! Is your DS saying anything yet?

Re: Mom's of one year olds
Kaydyn turned 1 in January also. She runs around like a mad woman. She is very independent and not really cuddly at all.
She's a pretty good eater, although we had some issues switching her over to whole milk so we're trying to limit her dairy intake while we are trying to transition again to milk. She really will not eat any red meat or pork (only eats chicken and turkey). She LOVES peas and will eat all of them no matter how many we give her.
She only has a few words....and has yet to say Mama (she calls both DH and I Dada).

Re: Mom's of one year olds
Kyle turned 1 Jan.4th. He started walking on New Years Eve and is now running everywhere. He loves to get into everything and see how things work (poke at them, hit them, etc...). He was 22 pounds yesterday when I took him for an ear infection. He is a HUGE breakfast eater but picky about lunch and dinner. He has 3 bottles of milk a day (8oz). I haven't started weaning him from the bottle just yet-he only drinks water out of his sippy. He says "mama" "dada" "da-dee" "hi" "cheese" and "doh" (dog). H eloves saying "vroom vroom" while racing his cars around-I love that. He is a huge copycat and mimica every expression and everything you do (which is why he is obsessed with a mop and swiffer-lol). I just heart him sooo much!!

Re: Mom's of one year olds
Luke turned 1 on Feb.8 and is running around like a madman. He only says mama and dada. I wish he would play with his toys more or watch a couple of children programs instead of wanting to play with our computer or tv or anything that he is not supposed to touch! He weighs about 24 pounds. He still uses the bottles for milk, but sippy cups for water. He is the cutest little man ever and gets funnier by the day.

Re: Mom's of one year olds
My DD turned one on St. Patrick's Day. She weighed 23 lbs 8 oz and was 31 inches long. She says Mama, Dada, Baba and That. She has a morning and night bottle and eats everything. She started taking steps 2 weeks before her birthday but still isn't fully walking yet.

Re: Mom's of one year olds
Amelia is a whopping 26lbs and 31 inches. She is huge. She weighs more than her older sister who is 2 and 24 lbs. It's hysterical. She started walking the end of February and her birthday was March 13th. She isn't talking much. Her only words are uh-oh, hi and bye. She babbles though. She isn't even big on saying ma ma and da da. I am so grateful that she is walking b/c I am 15 weeks pg and carrying 26lbs is not easy. I still hold her, just not as much.

DD turned one Jan 2nd she is around 22lbs not sure how tall.
Shes been walking since the middle of Feb. she can say momma, shoes, thank you, up, uh oh and hi (some not exactly properly)
shes been off formula since 11 months when she refused to drink it and has been off bottles since just before 12 months.
She likes to eat but only if she can feed herself, her fav food is peas and turkey dogs.

Re: Mom's of one year olds
DS (Liam) turned one on January 19th. He was 27lb 12 oz, 32 inches long at his 12 month appointment.
Liam cruises a lot, but has yet to take steps on his own. Mommy is getting tired because he is quite heavy. But he loves pushing his lion around, playing with blocks, and is becoming a pro at using his sippy cup, still takes a bottle in the morning and night. He is a great eater- loves cereal, fruit, pasta, chicken, veggies, bread- anything the adults are having. Transitioned to whole milk easily.
He calls me "ma-ma" all the time- which I love. He also says "da-da", "uh-oh", and"buh (for book)".

Re: Mom's of one year olds
DS turned 1 on 12/20 so he is now almost 16 months! As of yesterday he was 33lbs!!!!
He loves to eat and will eat anything but especially loves scrambled eggs, green beans, stuffing, and all fruits. He is very into feeding himself and often will on eat if he is given a fork and plate full of food!
I haven’t focused too much on weaning from the bottle yet so we have to do that but every time I commit to it he gets sick and then I feel bad!! We had a bad sleeping stretch just before his birthday but we did CIO and now are back on track, he is such a happier sleeper now!
He understands EVERYTHING and is really starting to figure things out. He mimics us all the time and doesn’t forget! The other day he go a hold of the magnet for the cabinet locks and went around holding it on the cabinet and trying to pull it open! And if he hears the dog bark he runs to the back door and opens it to let her in (he is tall enough to open the main door, but luckily not the screen yet)
He started walking before he was 11 months so now he is running all around, the dog can’t find a place to hide! He says dada, lion, hello, tiger, night night, diaper, and bapak (for Dora’s backpack – loves that song!)
And he has total spring fever! He cries when ever we come in even if we only walked from the car to the house! He would be out in the freezing cold or hard rain, he just loves it other there!
I really just can’t believe he is so big, it seems like just yesterday he was a NB and now he is a toddler!

Re: Mom's of one year olds
dd turned one on jan 30th, so she's 14 months old. she was an early walker--took her first steps at 8 1/2 months. she says quite a few words: ball, bird, moon, airplane, this, bye, pal (which means milk in our language), apple, up, mama, papa, no, as well a few other words in our language. she also loves dancing!
she still is on a bottle though, but that's my fault because i havent really given her a sippy. and she's not a very good eater!!
at her 1 year appt, she was 29.5 inches, and 21.5 pounds.

Re: Mom's of one year olds
Ryan turned 1 on 3/20
He weighs 24 lb 4 oz and is 31 inches long.
He say Mama, Dada and a lot of B words - Bye Bye, Boy, book, bear (he points to them when he says them so he means differnt things - but without the visual you might not know the difference ). He also say nite nite and more.
He can point and identify several body parts.
He isn't walking - cruising and a step here and there, but not walking.
We're not completely on table food - his meals are a combo table and baby food.
He's transitioned to whole milk but still nurses morning and before bed - I need to work on weaning him.
He's very happy, always smiling, laughing, clapping. He's such a good boy and we love him to death.

Re: Mom's of one year olds
Megan turned one on 3/25 -
She weighs a whopping 18 lbs 6 oz and is 30" We call her string bean - she is the skinniest baby you've ever seen.
Believe it or not she does eat quite a bit. She is mostly on table food, but will take jars of fruit as snacks (mostly b/c its convenient for mommy)
She is not walking alone yet, but she loves to practice while holding hands and really gets going. On bath night, she does the "naked walk" to the tub with a giant grin on her face- its so funny to watch!
she says dada, baba, uh-oh, all-done. Has said mama once or twice, but can't do it when I ask her to - she'll say "Baba" I think she has trouble with the "m" sound (figures, since her name starts with an M)
She's starting to figure out how to put puzzles back together (the big wooden ones)
She's had a rough week since turning one (see my post on Megan's rough week from last night.) So we are hoping things get better for her soon...
Great thread - i love to see how all the other LIF babies are doing!
