Moms of the 8 month olds sorry more questions
Does your DC act a little fresh to you? I feel like my DD has a nasty streak  She is only 8 mos old and I see her giving me nasty looks and like digging her nails in my arm and pinching and squeezing.. When i tell her "NO" she grunts and squints her eyes at me.. she loves to sing and make baby noises play like a happy baby should but she rarely laughs and could be a little fresh "I think?" I cant tell yet .. Its only happening today and yesterday... Anyone relate out there?  My heart is breaking over here

she doesn't know she's doing anything "wrong". with the pinching/squeezing thing she's just exploring and nay like the way it feels when she does it. she's def not purposly hurting you.

I def dont think she knows she is hurting me but I see like a mean streak or bad temper kwim? Or am I crazy and she is too young?

I think she's to young to have a mean streak. Samantha started doing these types of things around this age too. Now at 12 months there are days I just want to have gypsies come take her away!  (totally kidding!) I think alot of it is exploration as they become more and more aware of their environement and own personalities. I think alot of it also has to do with frustration of KNOWING what is they want to do or what they want to have, but not having the proper skills to communicate it just yet.
With that said, Samantha is definately more this way with me than with DH and part of that has to do with, 1) I'm with her alot more, and 2), she is learning what she can get away with and with whom.

Matthew is 10 months today and definitely went through the stage of grabbing my face really hard and pinching, scratching, yanking my hair, etc...but he didn't know what he was doing. She'll stop after a while. I think they are just becoming aware of things and that's all they can do is pull it or grab real hard.
For a while there I felt like all I was saying was No...after speaking to the dr. it's prob better to just remove them from the situation and use "no" when you really need to.
