Moms of toddlers....question about juice
Jayde has been only wanting juice for the past week. I have been only letting her have 2 cups a day, and giving water or milk the rest of the time she asks.
Do you limit the amount of juice you give DC, and if so how much do they get a day? TIA!

i let them have it when they want it. i give them maybe 2 oz of juice and 6 oz of water.

No because its all she drinks BUT she only gets watered down juice so really probably 8-10oz a day. Not ideal but she doesn't drink any kind of milk.

I give DD one glass a day, about 3 oz of juice with 3oz of water.

DD is 19 months & has never had juice. Just milk & water. She eats lots of fruit during the day. We're trying to keep certain foods away from her as long as possible to develop healthy eating habits. Juice is on my list to avoid because kids get so hooked on it. She will eventually have juice, of course.

I don't buy any juice for her. The few times she's tried juice boxes, she didn't really like them anyway.

I offer DD a juice box with breakfast. It's a Juicy Juice mini (4oz.). She'll drink maybe half; I refrigerate what's left and she drinks the other half the next morning.

She gets maybe a tiny cup of juice a day, that I know of (god knows what they give her at school!) and even then, it's grapefruit juice, and only a quarter of juice mixed with 3/4 water.

No juice here either. I've tried since she's got constipation issues and nope won't drink a drop of it. If she did drink it, my ped told us to limit it to 10-12 ounces a day max.

I give the kids watered down juice and they also love chocolate milk.
I see nothing wrong with it.

I usually give my DD 1-2 cups of juice a day. The rest of the day I give her milk. As long as it's a juice with no added sugar, I don't think 2 cups a day is too much.
