Congrats on your second
I could care less what we were having but since I come from a 1 boy 1 girl family that is what I was used too since I don't know what having a same sex sibling is like so everyone assumed with us that we naturally wanted a daughter.
For the grandparents they are just pysched to be blessed with one of each.
I don't think they mean it is as sexism they just looks at it as the best of both worlds. Honestly I wouldn't worry people just say stupid stuff!

Re: Moms of two or more girls and no boys...
Congratulations!
For my next pregnancy I am seriously dreading "Oh trying for that boy???" I would like to ask them if they know exactly how one would try for a boy?
I would be happy to have any gender - I think most people would - but everywhere you go, people are idiots and have to say something.

people are idiots. I have 2 girls and I heard the same comments - oh, you can try again for a boy! ***? Like it's just assumed you'd want one of each - why? I love girls
ONE person even went so far as to say to me "oh, you have two girls? What does your husband say about that?" I told her he was thrilled! She goes "really? That's surprising!"

I think you'd hear it if you had 2 boys also. I don't think it's that abnormal for people to want one of each. Obviously people are thrilled with whatever they have, but a lot of people do want to experience both, so I guess that's where the comments come from.

Re: Moms of two or more girls and no boys...
First off, congrats on your
Second of all, people are just annoying. I had a terrible pregnancy and from the beginning I have be saying that this will probably be my one and only. When we found out it was a boy, people kept saying "Oh, now you can be done b/c you are having a boy". Uh, why would it be different??
As the oldest of two girls, I liked having a sister and only a sister. And people used to always say "I feel sorry for your father" and he would say "Why? I have two fantastic girls"
Congrats on your girl again

I have 2 boys and I received the same reaction as you did when I found out that my 2nd was a boy. I was estatic yet many people made comments like "So I guess you HAVE to go for your girl" or "Looks like you'll never get to have that mother-daughter bond" I absolutely hate these comments and I think whether you have 2 of the same sex there will always be those with the idiotic comments.
