Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
What are some of your fears this time around???
Im happy to say that Im not at all nervous about delivery (although Im sure the night before I wont be able to sleep, and will be a little shakey walking down to the OR) but Im soooo worried about my son's reaction...
I think he'll do fine with the baby, but Im so worried how he'll be with me... (reading Allisons 5ofclubs post about her birth-freaked me out a little bit )
I always think about trying to get out of the house with 2... Im late for everything all the time with just one... Not sure how Ill do it with 2...
Im sure I have others... Ill add as they come to me...
What are yours?

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
Where do I begin!??!
I guess right now I'm still in the fear of a m/c since I had one last Oct....so I'm just praying and praying right now.
I worry that #2 will be as difficult a newborn that DD was.
I worry that I'll get PPD again.
I wonder how I'm going to manage 2!
I have NO clue where #2 will sleep since we live in a small 2 bedroom and there's no room for the 3 of us as is
But other than that....I have to say I'm SO excited becasue I KNOW what to expect this time. There's no fear of the unknown, KWIM? Sure you don't know how #2 is going to be....but I'm MUCH more prepared this time around.
Crying won't scare me half to death...changing diapers won't freak me out...the umbilical cord will still gross me out, but I'll deal
ETA - I have a fear of the double stroller!!!

My BIGGEST fear is that #2 will be a difficult baby. Jake was so good...so easy. I can't imagine getting that lucky twice in a row
I fear that I won't have the same level of patience for EITHER of them...

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I've been surprisingly relaxed about most things this time around. Some of the things that do stress me out include:
- How DS #1 will adjust to DS #2. - DS #2 won't be as easy as DS #1 was. - Having the Baby Blues again...I hated feeling that way. - Balancing being a wife and mother and working.

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
my fears are affording 2 daycares
that my son wont be " my one and only" anymore
getting out of the house in the morning
Sleep is always a concern since I suffer from chronic insomnia since having Bryan
this one I will have to put in daycare at age 3 months that will be very interesting since bryan was at 18 months and it was still difficult to manage.

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I'm worried about the surgery.
I'm worried how Bry will adjust/react.
I'm worried I'll be worried about Bry's feelings and not giving baby 2 enough attention (of course, I will try and give them BOTH equal attention)
Bryan was SUCH a good baby, I am we are that lucky again!

I agree word for word, there is NO way I am getting as lucky as I was with Miki, she was the easiest baby EVER

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I have to say I'm scared about having another c-section and not being able to pick up Jack for awhile afterwards.
I'm scared to see how he will react the first few weeks home with the new baby.
I'm worried about not sleeping again and hope I can get another child into such a good routine like we have with Jack.
Oh and I have no idea how to get out of the house with two since I feel like it takes me forever with just him!

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
i'm mostly worried about how DD is going to handle it. i think that she is going to be fine, i just dont want her to ever feel like she is being left out or pushed aside, so my plan is to just make sure we include her in everything.
she was such a good baby so i'm afraid he is going to be more difficult.
i'm not worried about the labor/delivery which i thought i would be again but i'm really not.

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
Im so scared of PPD
I worry that DS was too easy and no way can be that good.
I worry about managing two-logistics like getting to the store or even just out the door.
I worry about taking time off from work again.
needless to say I am a worrier

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I am fearful we will never be able to leave the house
i am scared my 21 month old will flip out
I am worried about sleeping arrangements in my small apt with 2 under 2
My DS was such a good baby and i am scared I will compare the new one to him/her
Financially it will be tough
No double stroller yet--but need to get one
Most of all things are great with the 3 of us and I hope 4 of us will be great also

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
When I was pregnant with DS#2 all I wa worried about was - how will I go to the store, how will I manage to get out of the house. To hopefully ease your mind, you do get into a groove and it is more manageble than I thought that it would be.
Now I am pregnant with #3 and I am worried about the same thing because where does everyone go in the car? We had to buy a new car because we couldn't fit three carseats and this freaked me out. I even MORE worried about labor. Will it be too fast?? Will everything go well? Where are we going to put this baby? How will I manage with three kids so young (3, 1 and newborn)???
I'm so freaking out. There are time that I have a moment to breathe but with three how do you get any moments?
I just wanted to add that you can have another good baby. Everyone would say "oh you have one good one - that means #2 will be a horror" I have to tell you #2 is even better than #1. Good luck ladies:)

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I'll be honest and say it'll be a long road of worry for me being that DS needed early intervention and is in a special needs school....
It's not that I couldn't go through it again..I know I can 100% handle it having gone through it. It's the fear of something more being "wrong" this time around that is out of my control.
I pray daily for a healthy baby. If this baby is like its big brother, that will make me happy...Johnny is a blessing and a wonderful kid. I of COURSE don't wish they need so much therapy and intervention but its not the worst thing ever...
I just worry all the time. I didn't have the typical experience most new moms have, its a hard feeling to explain...

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I'm worried about the birth. I'm planning a VBAC & I seriously do not want another c-section.
I'm nervous about how DD will feel. She's 3.5 so she understands about the new baby coming & I'm afraid she's going to feel replaced. The thought of her feeling that way breaks my heart. It makes me so sad that it won't just be me & her anymore.
I'm nervous about fitting everything it. We have a 2 bedroom apartment & DD will evetually have to share her room (after baby moves out of our room). I'm worried about how to arrange everything & I'm worried DD will be upset about us taking over some of her space.
I'm scared financially of affording two kids

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
Honestly I'm not worried about my section again - but I'm worried about - are you ready for this huge list?:
If DD will be okay those nights when I'm in the hospital and whether she will leave without me when my parents bring her to the hospital to see me and the baby.
That she will totally freak out about the baby b.c she is an attention seeker and very outgoing at times I'm afraid about her transition with the baby.
I'm worried about how I will take care of her in the beginning AND the baby with a section.
I worry about how she will take my BFing the baby.
I worry about how I will get out of the house - getting out with one was doable but took getting use to - with two esp since DD is very active I'm worried in general.
How I will get out of the house in the beginning since I can't lift a heavy stroller or carry DD and the baby - or drive in the beginning - will I be able to take DD to the park or get out for a basic walk the first few weeks during the summer.
How DD will take to being home a lot since she is used to going to classes, playdates etc.
Is that a long enough list?

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
WOW...What a question...
This is going to be my 2nd, my DH's 3rd. But it will be our 1st together. i am so nervous about how things will be when the baby comes. I am not nervous at all about L&D... just about afterwards.
How is it going to be in the house with his 23 yr old daughter, his 20 year old son, my 7 year old daughter and then a newborn.
Will my daughter adjust OK after being the only child for so long?
My DD was such a great baby... will i be lucky enough to get that again?
i am going to be a stay at home mom... how will I be????
definitely a lot of fears over here....

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
i am worried about ME.
Everyone else , including my daughter, can just walk away and spend time by themselves... i can not though, and a newborn plus 13 month old are not going to understand that mommy wants a breather.
I am worried that when they become toddlers they will gang up on me to get their way and be evil little monsters like Stewie Griffin from family guy.... just imagine, two of them trying to get their way.

I'm worried that my DS will be upset and feel left out. I also worry about he will do when I am at the hospital. Since I'm having twins I'm hoping that I can have them vaginally because I'm scared of a c-section.

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
Okay, here's the list of my worries:
* that the baby will have clubbed feet like DD did * that the baby will be colic like DD was * that the new baby will be a sensitive sleeper like DD * the way that DD #1 will react to the new baby * handling 2 little ones * that I can still give DD #1 the attention that she needs & deserves * that I'll be a good mom

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
My biggest concern is having another colicky baby and having PPD. As far as the kids reactions, I'm expecting the worst negative attention seeking from Roman and with Clover I don't know what to expect, she is such a mama's girl so we'll see. I'm really concerned more about myself though.

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
Sorry I freaked you out a little bit. I wanted to update about my life here now
Things are going AWESOME!! (knock wood)
I never thought I would get have another child as good as Andrew was but she is even better. She cries only when she is hungry and the cry is like a little mouse
Andrew really could careless about her (which is good). He goes about his business like before she was born. He does help me get diapers and a bottle and put her binkie back in but otherwise he just walks around her bouncer like she is just a piece of furniture
And the dog just likes to lick her a lot which grosses me out but it could be worse.
Sleeping has been great. Andrew has stayed pretty much on his same schedule. He went back to school with no problems.
And Alexa has been sleeping in 5-6 hr stretches already!!!
I am very blesses and was freaked out before hand over nothing.
This c-section recovery was even better then with Andrew. The only problem was my back but that is from a previous condition. I have rods in my back.
Everything will be fine and will fall into place once the baby is born.
I am so in love with my life!!!
