Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)

Sorry I freaked you out a little bit. I wanted to update about my life here now
Things are going AWESOME!! (knock wood)
I never thought I would get have another child as good as Andrew was but she is even better. She cries only when she is hungry and the cry is like a little mouse
Andrew really could careless about her (which is good). He goes about his business like before she was born. He does help me get diapers and a bottle and put her binkie back in but otherwise he just walks around her bouncer like she is just a piece of furniture
And the dog just likes to lick her a lot which grosses me out but it could be worse.
Sleeping has been great. Andrew has stayed pretty much on his same schedule. He went back to school with no problems.
And Alexa has been sleeping in 5-6 hr stretches already!!!
I am very blesses and was freaked out before hand over nothing.
This c-section recovery was even better then with Andrew. The only problem was my back but that is from a previous condition. I have rods in my back.
Everything will be fine and will fall into place once the baby is born.
I am so in love with my life!!!
Thanks for the update, Im so glad everything is going so well!!! Def. makes me feel better...
My heart broke for you when I read Andrew wanted nothing to do with you in the hospital, and it really scared me... I cant imagine how that felt.
I know that it is very normal, and it very well could happen with Rj as well.. (the way you describe how close you and Andrew are, and how attached he is, reminds me of me and Rj's relationship) but it scares me... Ill end up from the maternity ward to the psych ward

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I'm very nervous about recovery from the C with a very mobile toddler.
Getting into a routine and making sure I spend enough time with DS round out my top three. I've got plenty of others though
I would actually say I'm more nervous this time around - maybe because I know what to expect! DS screamed every waking moment for the first 8 weeks of his life and I think that ignorance was bliss at that point. The idea of going through that again

WOW...What a question...
This is going to be my 2nd, my DH's 3rd. But it will be our 1st together. i am so nervous about how things will be when the baby comes. I am not nervous at all about L&D... just about afterwards.
How is it going to be in the house with his 23 yr old daughter, his 20 year old son, my 7 year old daughter and then a newborn.
Will my daughter adjust OK after being the only child for so long?
I had my 2nd DD (my Dh's 1st) when Dd # 1 was 7 years old. It was the greatest thing in the world to her. My guess is that your DD will adjust fine. I understnad what you man about the 7 year bond you had. I had the same anxieties but once that baby is born everything happens naturally for you and your DD b/c it's her sibling. She may have older step siblings but this is different. This will be an amazing experience for her and yes it will take adjusting on everyone's part.
Your DD friends will idolize her...not many 7 year old get to be a big sister to a newborn . It will all work out.

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
Im the most nervous about the first day dh goes back to work and its me alone juggling a newborn and toddler. Im also still juggling with the guilt of having another.. hoping once baby is here it will go away and not become worse.

My BIGGEST fear is that #2 will be a difficult baby. Jake was so good...so easy. I can't imagine getting that lucky twice in a row
I fear that I won't have the same level of patience for EITHER of them...
OMG this is sooooo my fear also!

Re: Moms preggo w/ their 2nd (or more)
I am nervous about where DD will be while I am in the hospital and how she will react. I am sure she will be fine, but I will miss her so much and I love our routine. Which brings me to my next fear - how will a baby affect our routine, particularly bedtime. I LOVE bedtime - her bath, reading books and laying her down is something that only I do. I am curious to see how this little one will fit into the mix.
Also DD was and is such an easy going kid - she slept great, nursed immediately, with no problems and she is just fun and mellow. I am convinced no other child can be as go with the flow as she is!
