my sister would highly recommend a video baby monitor-
my niece would start screaming and they didnt know if they should rush in, they would look at the monitor and sometimes she was sleep walking circling her bed- then would stop- it made things ALOT easier then rushing in every single time.

Items I couldn't live without:
1. Swing. We have the FP Papasan Swing and we used it for 6+ months. DD got some of her best naps in that thing.
2. Video Monitor. We have the Summer Handheld and could not live without this. Our family room is on the lower level and DD's room is on the 2nd floor, and this saved us many trips running up and down the stairs.
3. Onesies w/zippers. These are so easy to use, great for doctor visits, great for quick diaper changes. DD's whole wardrobe consisted on these things.
4. Bibs and burp cloths. DD was a "happy spitter" and these things came in very handy.
5. Born Free Bottles. DD took to these right away.
6. Fisher Price Newborn to Toddler Rocker. Got this as a hand-me down and love it. DD is one year old and still uses it!
7. Chicco Key Fit and Cortina Stroller Travel System. Used it everyday for 10 months.
8. Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat. High rated, easy to install.
9. Graco Pack n Play. We have a 2 level house and it was great to have this on our lower level. We still use it to this day!

onsies or one piece outfits (putting pants on a squirmy 10 month old is a pita)
white bibs (otherwise they are a pain to clean)
baby entertainer (the floor one...ds used to play on that thing til he fell asleep)
