Moms to infants on Nutramigen
My Dr. gave me a prescription for Nutramigen but mentioned that it tastes horrible and the baby may not take it at first. Anyone have any experience with this? I'm worried about DS not taking it.

DS was on Nutramigen for a while. The taste never bothered him. I don't think any formula tastes good. LOL. DS will drink it because he is hungry. My son is on Elecare now and I think it is a million times worse then Nutramigen....

Oh really - I'm glad the taste never bothered him. The Dr freaked me out a little b/c she said "oh he probably wont take it at first b/c it tastes horrible" I was like oh thats just great

My cousin who's a ped tasted it (he wanted to taste all of the formulas he recommended) and said it was the worst thing he ever had.
I gave it to DS once when he was having a stomach virus (on paper, it seemed like a good fit). He didn't like the taste at all. He drank an ounce while making a horrible face and then screamed and refused to eat anymore.
I do know a lot of other babies though who had no problems with it.

DD was having a terrible time with "regular" formula and was switched to Nutramigen. She took it fine, but it definitely smells and tastes pretty gross!

DD is on it and doesn't have a problem with the taste. I'm used to it now, but it also smells pretty bad!

Not nutramigen, but alimentum. We switched DS on it for a week to see if it would help his diarrhea.
Its smell like rancid cat food, it made me gag.
DS drank it like it was the most delicious thing he ever had. Babies are weird.

DD is on it and she took to it fine when we switched. I tasted it, because I taste everything I give her, and yuck
