moms who add oatmeal/rice cereal to bottle HELP!

My pediatrician suggested adding a teaspoon of oatmeal to bottle. She also suggested buying the nipples made for cereal cause of the wider opening...

I tried adding the flakes to her botte last night, put on new nipple, but its like shes not getting anything at all. After being on the bottle at least 30 min it hadnt moved. I was watching her suck but formula went nowhere. I tried to change back to the original nipple but same thing.

She sucks and sucks doesnt cry. She doesnt act like shes not eating and even falls asleep. But only sleeps an hour to hour and a half then wakes up screaming at the top of her lungs like shes starving. Then does the same thing again. Ive tried adding less oatmeal flakes but same thing. Even just a quarter of a teaspoon. The bottle doesnt go anywhere. Its like nothing is coming out.

When i check the nipple opening unless i squeeze it nothing comes out. Then its just tiny tiny drops
and this is supposed to be the cereal nipple.

Anyone experience this? What do I do? Do I try Medium Flow instead?

It took both of my kids a day or two to figure out how to use the y-cut/cereal nipple, but once they did it was pretty easy for them to down their bottles. The only way it comes out is if they bite down and suck at the same time. I initially squeezed some out as an incentive to get them to try the bottle.

You could try switching to the medium one, when I did that it was too fast for them. Maybe you might have better luck than I did!

(Both of them had 1 tsp of cereal per ounce mixed into all of their bottles).

I bought regular nipples and made the hole bigger...
