Moms who are Potty training Boys- BTDT please come in
So DS is 19 months. I discussed with his ped at his 18 month appointment when to start potty training. He said anytime to get a potty seat and let him sit on it and get used to it. So he knows that the potty is for Tee Tee (we live in the south and they call it Tee Tee instead of Pee Pee--no idea why). He is in the pre potty training class at daycare and they have introduced potty training in his class. Well at home he is terrified of the potty. I know that he is young but we have not been pushing him just trying to get him to sit on it. We haven't forced him to sit on it. Should we stop and give it a break or keep trying...He tell us when he goes both pee and poop and stays dry for at least 2 hours at a time on most days.

I would try to encourage him to get used to it. Even if he sits on your lap, lid closed. Then sit him on it, lid closed & work from there.
Also he gets to flush...

IMO, 19 months is too young. Neither of my boys were even NEAR ready until 2 years and both were completely trained by 2 1/2.
I would give it a break and wait until HE takes the initiative.
