Re: BTDT Moms Potty Training Boys
I have JUST started and am using the seat that goes on the regular seat. He stands up to pee and we haven't tried pooping yet! He has sat on the little seat a few times but just to get the feel for it.

The little potty's never worked for my boys, they just learned on the regular toilet. Even my youngest (just turned 2 in Feb) uses the regular potty but he is also in a dipaer still. I'm planning on next month to fully train. GL

Re: BTDT Moms Potty Training Boys
We started with the Baby Bjorn Potty (it has a high splash guard~a must for boys). I had him sit down to pee all the time. Then we were out at the mall once and he had to pee, so I made him stand and he's been standing ever since. #2 was very difficult for him to grasp. We had many many accidents but with a reward/sticker chart we got him away from the accidents and finally potty trained.

Re: BTDT Moms Potty Training Boys
Potty training is a total disaster for us we have both options but DS seems to prefer the separate potty and not just the one I got the one HE picked but he still won't train so I guess I am no help really-LOL I would suggest seeing if DS has a preference and if he has a potty he likes at the store. I would start with one potty and see if the other one likes the same potty or he may want to choose his own eventually. I bet if the one starts the other will follow shortly -I wish that for you! Good Luck!

Re: BTDT Moms Potty Training Boys
Both my boys preferred to start on the small potty. I think I would get two because they may want to do it at the same time, for morale.
If you are serious about doing quickly, I suggest keeping them at home and letting them run around naked for about a week. When you put underwear or Pull-ups on them they just associate it with a diaper and will #1 or #2 in it until they are used to the sensation. Ask them every ten minutes or so if they have to go.
Good luck, it's not so bad. Just be patient, it can take some time.
