Moms who arent having anymore children

what are you doing for birth control?

Dh and i are certain that we only wnat one child. I am 35 and i am VERY fine w/ this decision. However, i HATE the idea of having to g back on the pill and/or use condoms.

Has anyone considered or have done tube tying?? Do you stop getting AF if you get tubes tied?

I got my tube (only have 1 ) tied when I had DD as we had decided we weren't having any more. I didn't stop getting AF...but boy, wouldn't that have been nice

My DH had a laser vasectomy done in literally 10 minutes. It was the best decision we've ever made. No stitches and only 1 day of soreness. No more birth control for us!! We went to a wonderful specialist if anyone is interested FM me. The procedure was cover 100% by our ins.

I wanted to get my tubes tied. I had a c-section in a catholic hospital so that was no no. My OB also said some women find their periods become worse after having their tubes tied. I don't know but that's what he said. My DH claims he will have a vasectomy but he hasn't gone yet, so I don't believe him. I REFUSE to go on the pill now that I am over 35.

I am currently pregnant with #2 and DH and I are POSITIVe that this will be the last one for us.

We have come to the decision that if I give birth naturally to #2 in December (had DS naturally also) DH will look into getting a vasectomy. If for some reason I have to have a c-section, I will consider having my tubes ties when they are in there.

I was on the pill for 10 years before DS and after being off it for so long, I found it so hard to remember to take it every day again. Plus, DH doesn't want me taking all those hormones again. So that is the decision we have reached!

I'm still debating, but for now it's Birth Control... well, since Mason is only 8 weeks we really haven't gotten there yet anyway. LOL

i had some on and off blood pressure complications after my c-section, and couldnt go back on the pill that i liked b4, seasonale because of it. my dr recommended the mirena iuc, and i had that done a few months back. so far no real side effects, and the af now is either non existent or only lasts a day or two, so no complaints about that!

IUD for now b/c we are 99.9% sure we are done. I think at some point DH will get snipped.

I had my tubes tied...or rather the Essure procedure done to permanently block my tubes...

I got my tubes tied when DS was born 10 months ago. Two children was what I wanted, and I didn't want to have to worry about bc in the future. It has worked fine for me, no side effects.

DH just took care of that

He actually got into a funk after he had it done when he realized we weren't having anymore.

After we have our second child, that will be it. It is impossible for me to conceive without assistance (and no a miracle would NOT happen) so birth control is a moot point for us. I know that I will not bear any more children after we have a second. It would be up to DH as to whether or not HE doesn't want any more children with me or anyone else for that matter. The pill did right by me for 15 years - who knew that for a few of those years, I didn't need it. Go figure.

There is a new procedure they do . They implant coils into your falopian tubes ,and the tissue grows around it,and within 3 months they are closed off ! I will try to find more info .

Tubal ligation....thats why i gave birth this time around in a non-catholic hospital. We have 2 children and I was absolutely certain that i did not want any more. I am also 35. I had a c-section and it was so easy to be done. I was scheduled for a 730 c-section and DS was born at 8:10. At that point the tubal was done already.

So happy with my decision.

I actually use a combo of tracking my cycle and pnp.

Although I didn't consider tying my tubes, I did think about Essure - which evidently much less invasive? BUT.. I am at an age where getting pregnant would probably be more difficult so it seems almost unnecessary. My cycles have been getting longer and longer.. so I have a strong feeling they are coming to an end soon.

My girlfriend uses Mirena and because she is petrified of having a 4th child she is also insisting on her husband getting HIS tube tied.

I would like to try an IUD, but I do want to research it a bit more. They are supposed to be much safer than they were years ago, and provide very effective birth control compared to condoms.
