Moms who delivered @ LIJ...
Im curious as to how many people they allow to be present while you're in labor and at the actual birth? Considering everything goes well?
TIA!

Just delivered there a couple weeks ago. They allow 2 people. They also allowed my mom to come in after the delivery as my sister went downstairs.
It was my sister and DH with me the whole time. I had a great experience. The nurses and residents were amazing and so caring.

Thanks for responding. I was at LIJ last week in the emergency room and got really nervous about having to deliver there. Im trying to gauge from other moms experiences.

Re: Moms who delivered @ LIJ...
No prob! I was really nervous myself especially hearing some others bad experiences right before I delivered. To be completely honest though, the things I thought would bother me did not at all---all of that goes out the window once you are there and in the moment----really the major thing you will care about is meeting and spending as much time as possible with your new bundle of joy. Also, if you are having a V birth and there are no problems, they tend to get you in and out pretty quickly. I went into L&D around 8PM on 12/29 and gave birth at 12:03 AM on 12/30. I was discharged home the morning of 12/31.
I ended up being in a room of 4, however, it honestly was not as bad at all as I would have thought. Everyone was really nice and initially it was only 2 of us in the room.
The nurses again were so nice and accomodating. If we decide to have another child, I definitely want to deliver at LIJ!
Oh, the residents too during the actual birth----they were just so pumped and upbeat. It was a really great experience having about 5 people including my doctor, DH and sister cheering me on.
