Moms who EBF and went back to work HELP!
It's my 2nd week back to work and I am 1/2 way through my freezer stash already DD went from 8 feedings a day to 7 for a few weeks before I went back to work- then 6 times for a few days, and now she is back up to 8 I'm not sure if it is a growth spurt (she is also waking up more during the night)
DH is watching her during the day and she's been feeding every 2 hours if she is hungry she is HUNGRY. If I was home it would be different- but I am finding it hard to keep up!
As of right now I am
nightime feeding around 3-4 Nursing when she wakes up (6) pumping before I leave (get around 6 oz) around 7:20 pump at lunch - 11 depending on if I make it home in time I am trying to nurse when I get home (around 4) and pump after to make sure I am empty feed her pumped bm around 730 pump before bed
Any tips?
I have nothing against formula at all but kinda made it a personal goal to EBF till she was at least 6 months...

Can you pump more often at work? This is how my schedule looked like when I went back to work. 6:30 nuse 10 pump 1pm pump 3:30pm pump 6:30 nurse as soon as I got home
Good luck!

What helped me build up my supply was to make sure I also pumped on the weekends. I would try to(still try) to pump an extra time on weekends and I try really hard not to use freezer stash although that is not always possible. How old is she and how many oz doees she take?

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you feed her pumped BM at 7:30, instead of nursing her? Also, I agree with PP, I would try to pump more at work if possible- I know it's not easy!

If you can, pump at 10am and 1pm instead of just one time at 11. I EBF until 5 months (went back to work at 11 weeks and this was my schedule):
BF before I left for work (around 7am) pump 10am pump 1pm pump 4pm BF when home from work (around 5:30pm) BF before DD went to bed (around 8pm) Pump before I went to bed (around 11pm)

How many ounces is she taking? In the beginning, when you first return, sometimes they suck down more for comfort. I know when I went back after my 1st my mom swore DS1 was starving - within a few days he was taking less and adjusted. Same thing with DS2 - MIL swore he needed like 8oz a bottle at 16wks! He was taking it, but he didn't need all that - again, in a few days he went to the 5oz that seemed "normal" for his age.

If you save the bm you pump at work for the following day and nurse instead that would help you. To pick up your supply try mothers milk and eat lots of oatmeal it really helps. When i 1st came back to work I pumped 3 times a day know at 8 months I pump twice a day

Good question ! I find she sleeps longer stretch when she gets a bottle- I actually started topping her off after nursing at night.
She's taking 5-6 oz bottles. She's almost 14 lbs and 3 months old- very tall though. The lc said 2.5-3 oz per lb of body weight.
The times aren't really flexible since since I'm a teacher, but I will def try and pump a second time at work- and more on weekends! Thanks for all your replies!
