For us I would say the norm is about 45 minutes to an hour. We have to walk and pat his back...and he cries the whole time He gets sooo cranky when he's tired.

When I put her to bed at night I would say we sit in the rocking chair for maybe 5 minutes before she's out.
In the middle of the night it takes a little longer...maybe like 10-15 minutes.

At almost 17 months we still rock for a bit and cuddle. I sing 3 songs that we do every night and then its straight to bed. She goes down awake- sometimes she cries, sometimes not. But she never does for more than minute.
Usually I am in there no more than 15 minutes tops.

i am glad to hear this, because i thought dd was finicky for wanting 45 minutes. and even then there is no guarantee she won't wake up when we put her in the basinette. sometimes i let her sleep in the swing for two hours and then move her. it's the only sure fire thing for us.

I give Lucas 10 - 15 minutes of rocking from the time he finishes the bottle. Usually he's knocked out and I transfer him but on the nights that he's still fusing or trying to play - he goes straight in after 15 minutes and we do CIO.

it depends. Sometimes it only takes a few minutes other times she fights it and can take 45 minutes.
