DS is 4 months old. He gets a bath around 6:30, and a 5 oz. bottle at 7:00. He is in his crib between 7:15-7:30, and sleeps until 5-5:30 AM. He takes two naps a day, one from 9:30-10:30, and another from 1:30-2:30.

Honestly, for us...consistency with napping during the day.

Kristina wakes around 9 now. She drinks her 8oz bottle, and then around 1130 has another 4oz to top her off and she is down for a 2 hour nap.
She wakes, eats, and then chills and is hyper all over the place.
If she wants to go down around 3 for a nap I will allow her that for one hour.... If she misses that window, then that's it... no more naps for the day - CRANKY OR NOT. (I'm not going to go into meals here - they're irrelevant)
By the time 7 pm rolls around, she is rubbing her eyes, if it's tubby day then we do that, if not, then I just change her directly into her pajamas, and 7oz of milk, and goodnight baby by 730/8pm the latest!

How is her napping schedule? I swear by the book, "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child".
We started at 8/9 months old. Whenever she'd wake, she had to be down for a nap 2.5 hours later. She takes 2 naps a day, then would be down by 7pm.
We had to let her CIO for about 3 days. Now she sleeps like a champ usually.

Re: moms whose DC sleep through the night..or close to it
I don't think it's the fullness.... i truly think it's how tired they are.
im telling u... if i let her nap any later than til 4 in the afternoon..... this girl would not go to sleep til 9 or 10 at night! but she would always sleep the night through...... she's been doing that since 7ish or so weeks old.... and even then she was only getting milk.

Re: moms whose DC sleep through the night..or close to it
I was really resistant to the idea of living by a schedule at first- until I read that book. Once we got her naps down, the overnight thing kind of fell into place.
The better rested she is from naps, the longer she will sleep at night......

He has been on solids for about 2 weeks. We don't do much yet though because he is so young. No fruits or veggies yet, just rice cereal. He gets about 3 oz. of cereal with his morning bottle at around 6:00 AM. Another 3 oz. at lunchtime (11:30 AM), and another 3 oz. with dinner (5:30 PM).

i was thinking the opposite...the less she sleeps during the day the more tired at night = longer she would sleep. see this is why i love you guys

That was the same line of thinking that I had. Until I read that book and it explained it. When they are overtired- there tends to be more night wakings and broken sleep.

For us, keeping her on a strict eating and sleeping schedule during the day kept our nights peaceful!

Re: moms whose DC sleep through the night..or close to it
My DD wakes up around 6 30 am. gets a bottle, and some fruit w/ cereal, hangs out for an hour then goes back in for a nap. After her morning nap she doesnt go in again till after lunch then again around 3ish. Around 4 she gets her dinner, Bath and last bottle at 6. 6:30 its good night! She wakes around 6-6 30am. She is a great sleeper. I could put her in her crib prob at any time and she would sleep. lol she has been like that from day 1. Hope your DC starts sleeping better. xo

Yup, that's it exactly!
For my son, the naps during the day are key. He usually takes 2 or 3 during the day.
He wakes at 6am, then naps from 7:15-9:15am. Then again around 11-1. Then sometime in the late afternoon he'll take another nap, but only for about 30 minutes or an hour at most.
He gets a bath at 7pm, followed by a 5 ounce bottle and then usually goes down at 7:30pm.
