Moms with little girls with curly hair HELP!!

Ok, my dd is 18 months, she doesnt have a lot of hair at all (she was bald at birth and remainded with very fine hair for a LONG time)Chat Icon

Well it is growing in now and it is obviously curly like MINE!

After her bath when it dries, most of the time is dries very frizzy

She looks adorable bc its not a lot of hair but where it is growing in it doesnt lie flat to her head it kinda goes in a few directions!

What do I do?????

Re: Moms with little girls with curly hair HELP!!

im sort of new to this too, Chloe is 22 months, but I have found detangler to be my best friend! It's still frizzy in the morning from her sleeping on it, so I put some more detangler, comb it out and put it in pigtails. She looks like she has two little curls as pigtails since it is still pretty short. I have heard a lot of good things about Milk products too. there have been a few threads on here about curly hair too.

Re: Moms with little girls with curly hair HELP!!

I started by using a detangler spray to tame her hair.

Now I use a J&J shampoo/conditioner for thick or curly hair - DDs hair is fine but has a ton of curls. It makes it much easier to comb and less frizzy. I use the spray to touch it up or to comb it out when necessary.

No matter what I do sitting in the car seat makes it all frizzy anyway. I have stick straight hair. This is all new to me.

DD has super super curly frizzy hair, the summer months are not her friend...what I've found to work best is a really good thick leave in conditioner and only brush her hair when its wet!!!

I use pantene for curly hair products on DD. I only comb her hair with conditioner in the shower and I spray the detangler in the morning to tame it. the less you fuss with curls the better they will keep.

Detangler and a little comb through only when wet! The more you touch it, the frizzier it gets!

same here. I use a spray bottle with water and detangler and comb every morning and let it air dry or if I need to go out in the cold I blow dry it with a diffuser. On special days (picture day, holiday's, etc.) I use a little serum to keep the curl from frizzing

ditto!

I use a TON of conditioner (any brand really).. and I have a spray bottle with some conditioner in it that I'll spray her hair down with and then comb and brush and style it and apply MORE conditioner.Chat Icon

Re: Moms with little girls with curly hair HELP!!

I dont have a DD but a DS with super curly hair. I have found that a leave in condition is a must. Also towel drying will almost always leave his hair frizzy. I know let it air dry but now that its cold i use a diffuser to dry his hair completely. This has cut down on the frizz a lot and lasts a few days.

ets: In my avatar DH is drying DS with a towel. We no longer do this.Chat Icon

Re: Moms with little girls with curly hair HELP!!

DD's hair is not near as curly as mine but I do double condition it, one in the bath plus J&J makes a leave in conditioner as well as a spritz of detangling spray every morning before I brush her hair.

I just started using Original Sprout products for DD's hair and I love it and love the smell.
