Mopping a floor- How do YOU do it.
Ok. This is not meant to be a silly question.
So when I mop, I use a mopping/floor cleaer type sopa. But its a heavy duty house cleaner.
I dont make the water TOO soapy. But once you ahve the soap on the floor its almost like you can NEVER get the soap up NO MATTER how many times you go over it with a "clean" mop.
So I am JUST asking if anyone has suggestions on how to mop a floor.

I don't have any suggestions about traditional mopping -- I agree, and I hate it. The way I do it, I feel like I am always pushing dirty water around.
However, I LOVE my Bissel steam mop! I feel like it is so much easier and more sanitary, and the floor is clean with no residue when I'm done mopping.

for my tile - sweep & vaccum. use swifter jet. THEN use my steam mop and spritz down bleach to get it extra clean.

Re: Mopping a floor- How do YOU do it.
I vacuum, swiffer, then use a Swiffer wet jet on my tiled floors (I never mop with soapy water.) Every so often I get on my hands and knees and scrub with a brush - but that's only 3-4 times per year.) I tried a steam mop, but wasn't at all happy with it. Maybe I used it wrong, but I didn't like that it dulled my floors. I like them to shine after they're clean!

yes, I think so!
steam mops are great. You fill them with water and it steams up and you use it on your floors. They come with washable pads that are microfiber, usually. You can throw them in wash (but don't use bleach or fabric softener on them). I spritz down bleach usually on the floor in the extra dirty areas to get an extra clean.
steam mops are amazing and the floors - they dry quickly.

I've been eyeing the steam mops.
I use a wet swiffer and/or regular cotton mop with Mr. Clean or Fabuloso.

We vacuum, then Swiffer, then Swiffer Wet Jet. So far, it does the trick!

you can get one at bed bath and beyond (use a coupon, too - they always have them)
try it out
and then, if you don't like it, you can return it

Ditto. And I actually use unscented baby wipes (Huggies). My floors GLEAM afterwards - it's just obviously a PITA to get done, esp now that I'm pregnant again.

No, I wouldn't use it on my wood floors. I don't think you are supposed to do anything to real hardwood floors that gets them too wet.

I use my Steam Mop on my wood floors, too, and my DH is the floor guy so he'd tell me if I was doing a bad thing. He uses it on them, too!
