Is the steam mop safe on wood floors?
No, I wouldn't use it on my wood floors. I don't think you are supposed to do anything to real hardwood floors that gets them too wet.
Really? I use my steam mop on my wood floors all the time.
I use my Steam Mop on my wood floors, too, and my DH is the floor guy so he'd tell me if I was doing a bad thing. He uses it on them, too!
Ok. good. The website says wood also:

Definitely not supposed to use them on hardwood floors. Can cause warping over time as the hot steam can penetrate the wood.
We had all our hardwood floors redone and our floor guy said definitely not to use steam or water. I actually asked all the people who gave a quote the same question and they all said no. (i always ask questions when getting a quote, i feel it gives me the opprtunity to learn from all of them and they pick the best bid based on all the info i've suddenly learned)

I have used my steam mop on them for over a year and they seem to be fine. The website I provided says you can use it on them.

Re: Mopping a floor- How do YOU do it.
I mop the floors with VERY HOT WATER and white vinegar only. And only with the mop DAMP on the wood floors.
The floor guy said damp mop only on wood floors so I dip it in the water and ring it very well before going over the floors.
Bathroom floors - I use bleach
I use the shark steam mop only once a month on the wood floors. Scared to mess them up with the steam.. but the floors are sooooo cleann after I use it. I love it

Re: Mopping a floor- How do YOU do it.
in mopping tile floors, ive 'gone over it' with paper towels- i either throw paper towels on the floor and push them around with the swiffer, or skate around with paper towels on my feet lol
i feel like there is no such thing as a clean mop

Re: Mopping a floor- How do YOU do it.
I love my Bissel steam mop, in between I also use the regular mop but something about the steam makes me feel more sanitary. When I use the regular mop I go back over it with a dry towel to sort of soak up the excess water and it picks up a lot of dirt left in the water on the floor.
