I have never been in this woman's shoes and knock on wood hope I dont expeience losing a child. However this is a case of what does money have to do with it IMO. I dont think there was any intent to cause her pain. I believe who ever took the photos meant good.
Its heart breaking all around.
I do beleive there should be a change in protocol though. So that this doesnt happen again. I am sure it haunts her.

I think it could be more about principal than money. Honestly, they may have had good intentions, but they did not have any common sense.

It really hard to explain. But I kind of understand how she feels for different reasons. 2 years today my dad died and I remember everything that happened that day plus everything that ****** me off from my so called friends and family. For her she has the day her baby passed on plus the day she got those photos from that hospital in the mail and she's going to remember those 2 Terrible days year after year.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks that the hospital likely had good intentions - but they just went horribly wrong. I feel terribly for the mother - obviously she doesn't need any more heart ache than she already has.  But, I really do think whoever took those pictures probably thought they were doing a good thing.
I agree. I know there is a non profit organization that does this for parents who's babies have died but if the mother didnt give her consent they never should have taken pictures of her son. Such a horrible situtaion.
I agree. Now I lay me down to sleep is the organization. My mother worked in a hospital and she was the one who took pictures of a stillborn or a baby who died shortly after birth.
But.... this baby lived 16 weeks. There was no need unless the mother gave permission. The fact that she expressed that she didn't want the pictures taken is horrilbe.
