Moving a heating/cooling vent
Anyone have this done?
We have a vent (forced hot air) under a window where we would like to put a sliding glass door...
I don't think its a huge deal to have it moved a couple of feet over, but DH is not so sure...
Just weighing our options...

If your DH is handy it is pretty easy.

Re: Moving a heating/cooling vent
We hada total of 3 vents moved while we were starting removations in our family room. I think it cost us $600 - but one of the vents was floor level and we had to have the ductwork go all the way to the ceiling and it had to be custom made to fit between the studs (it was an inside wall). The custom fabrication was what made it expensive. The other two they just put in elbows and extended the ductwork to go between the next set of studs.

Re: Moving a heating/cooling vent
Oh, that's not too bad at all
DH was thinking much more
Its just one vent that has to be moved about 2 feet to the left
