moving to a new house and a big girl bed....

Hi everyone...this sunday will be our first night sleeping in our new house. DD is just over 3 years old and we are finally moving her to a big bed. She has slept in a bed many times though at Grandpa's house and does mostly OK.

How should I handle the first night? If she comes out of bed should I do the super nanny thing (stay in bed technique) or should I be a little lenient since it might be scary for her being at the new house? (like stay with her till she falls asleep)

And...should I put a gate on her door? I don't think I will be able to sleep well wondering if she is floating around the house or waiting for her to pounce into our bed.

I'm not there yet with DS as he is still in a crib. But I can't imagine how hard that is to be in a new bed AND a new room. Is it still possible to have the old bed (or crib) in the new room? I always try one new variable at a time. I wish you luck!
