moving to stage 2 foods
when do you move to stage 2 jarred foods? right now im using earths best carrots, squash and sweet potatoes stage 1 jars. DS cant seem to get enough. at daycare they give the bigger jars.
so im not sure what the difference is between stage 2's and 1's and when babies start.
DS will be 6 months next week.

Re: moving to stage 2 foods
The stage 2 is thicker and the jars are bigger...I just started this week, dd just turned 6 months...although I was making her food thicker by mixing it with "drier" cereal anyway...I think she likes it better that the liquidy stage 1.
On the jars, the stage 1 says 4 months and up and the stage 2 says 6 months and up.

Re: moving to stage 2 foods
i noticed some foods were a bit thicker but not by much.. however lile pp said i always thickened with cereal but when one jar wasnt enough and i was on the 2nd jar of food i went to stage 2.( at almost 5 months my ped said if ds was doing fine with stage 1 but still wanted more food then i could start stage 2. )
i still thicken stage 2 with cereal.

Re: moving to stage 2 foods
We made the move pretty quickly but that's mostly because in the beginning we were making a lot of her food ourselves (mashed sweet potato, squash, banana, etc) and the consistency of home-made food is IMO more like Stage 2. Plus she was hungry and liked the bigger jars. I say give it a try.
