THank you girls!!!!! We are doing great. The labor was a little stressful for all. Baby's heartbeat kept dropping so I had to wear an oxygen mask. Then at the last minute, w/o anyone knowing, baby turned sunny side up so after 3 hours of straight pushing I ended up tearing end to end. Not fun at all, but worth it of course. Nurses at Stony Brook have all been amazing. And Dr. Reavis was great. JJ is 8 lb 11 oz and 21 1/4 inches long, so a big boy! He was so tired yesterday, he wouldn't latch or just used my breast as a pacifier. After getting upset about this, I decided to give him formula twice. At just 5 this morning, he nursed like a champ so hopefully we are starting today nursing. He is totally rooming in with me, which is challenging, but what I wanted, you don't have to do this though they will take him and bring him to you every 2 hours to feed. The epidural was wonderful at first, but my legs got so numb it started to really bother me. Of course after finding out I had a 3rd degree tear, I'm very glad I got it. So far, I've been in pain, but somewhat managing it with Motrin, though they have offered something stronger.
Oh, and girls with GD, they tested his blood sugar right after. If it is low, he has to go to NICU. But not for long, just to get it back up. His was great so he stayed with me. They continue to test throughout the first day no probelms. They tested mine throughout labor. My endo said it would go down due to the exertion of labor, but it actually kept going up due to the stress, so I did receive injections of insulin 3 xs during labor. No big deal. They just tested mine at 5:00 this morning, after I ate grilled cheese and cookies for lunch yesterday, fruit and yogurt for dinner and lots of juice and a real soda, and everything was great. So don't worry it will be over for you soon.
Thanks again girls and I can't wait to hear about the rest of my October mommas!!

What a handsome little man!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your birth story. 3rd degree tear , oh man I am terrified now, but so glad that with the epidural you didn't feel it too much while it was happening.
