my basement flooded
woke up this morning to my entire basement flooded.
6 inches of water by the sump pump and at the other side of the basement by the stairs there was about 2.
DDs toys wrecked
flooring....disaster
I had some of DH things in the room with the sump pump in an old dresser of his. the disaster guy thinks it will be ok, but they will assess more later.
its all drained now but the emergency crew will be here later today or tomorrow morning to start drying, tearing everything up, bagging things and seeing how much needs to be replaced.
what a mess....

i'm sorry  unfortunately, i've been there. i am surprised it flooded even with a sump pump though. i hope they are able to save some of your things.

Oh, Candice, I'm so sorry to hear this!!!! Growing up, our basement flooded a lot, because we were in a low lying area, and not far from a creek!! The fire dept. would pump it out. Mary
