My dog is eating cat poop
Help!!! I just got a dog about a month ago and I already have 2 cats. THe dog keeps going into the litter box and eating the cat poop. I am trying to stay on top of the litter box but sometimes I am just too busy. The litter box is in the basement and the dog stays upstairs mostly but she sometimes sneaks down and I find the poop all over the floor and her eating it. Will she get sick from this? What is wrong with her? I put a doggy door where the litter box is but the cats won't use it and I can't close the door because the cats go up and down and I am not locking the cats in the basement. Any suggestions??

I block my litter box off with a baby gate. I put it high enough for the cats to get under but not too high so the dog can wiggle under there.

hershey used to do this when we first got him... we were just VERY on top of him everytime he did it & yelled at him for it... he eventually stopped
the baby gate idea is a good idea!!

My dogs do this too. We have a dome litter box so we had to turn it into a corner to prevent the dogs from getting in. Problem is my dogs are smaller than the cat  and still manage to get in there.

my mom's poodle does this i actually recommended turning the catbox so that it faces the wall, making it hard for the dog to get in (get a covered litter box if you dont have one) and it worked!!
the cats squeeze in and the dog cant get in
