my dogs caught a rat in the yard yesterday

We called them inside and they wouldn't come, so DH went to look for them, and they were out back around the corner of the house with something in the grass - it seems they found a rat somewhere outside and pretty much destroyed it. It was SO disgusting! I'm just glad DH was there to deal with it.

So... do your pets ever kill anything? Please make me feel better that my dogs aren't the only creepy little hunters out for blood!

Yes, thank goodness. DH was supposed to have called the vet this morning too to check & see if we need to do anything else.

You aren't alone.
It's an instinct.

My dog is constantly chasing squirrels and raccoons in my backyard.

I wasn't home to witness it, but once he caught a squirrel and was playing with it. When he was done playing with it, he shook it back and forth. My father went outside when he saw it and saw the squirrel was really hurt. It died.
