My Edgepark experience w/questions

I just called Edgepark after reading so many successful posts on here. I asked about finding out if a breast pump would be covered by my insurance. The customer service rep automatically said that it would be, without asking my insurance information. Then she said that they won't cover it until after the baby is born. My understanding from reading other posts on here is that other people were able to order the pump prior to having a baby. Am I incorrect? Should I try calling them again and speak to someone else? I pressed 2 for customer service..am I better off speaking to someone in billing?

ETA: When I called my insurance company to ask about coverage, they said I needed a "procedure code" from my OB, so that they could put it into the computer to check for coverage.

I would call back and speak to someone else. I know that for me, it wasn't covered. I couldn't imagine ordering one then being billed for it later on.

Your OB may need to okay it for it to go through but I have read on here that some insurances make you wait. I would speak to billing.

Every insurance is different. THe rep I spoke to did let me know that some insurance only covers it if you wait until after delivery. It comes pretty quick though so I'd buy a cheap one that can last until the new one arrives Chat Icon
