My MILs dog was put down this morning...
Poor Muffy. She couldn't stop coughing for the last 3 weeks. The vet gave her medicine to help with it, but for the last week, Muffy could barely swallow, as she was having difficult breathing. A month ago, she had a stroke and was falling over and blind in one of her eyes and had possible cataracts. So, they went to the emergency vet in Selden. The vet said on a scale of 6, Muffy was at a 5. Her lungs were filled with fluid and they offered to put her on oxygen, but had no guarantee that it would. She was suffering and they decided to put her down.
Our little Daisy hasn't seen my MIL in a week, but even she sensed something was wrong when my DH got off the phone this morning with his mom and she couldn't stop kissing him.
