my neighbor replaced 1/2 of the fence
that faces our property. There had been some missing (wood) slats & she told us that they'd be doing it. Well they did it today and the new 1/2 has been painted gray. So now the 1/2 of the wood fence that is along the entire length of the back of our property is a medium gray color and the other 1/2 is wood colored. I'm sure that they painted the other 1/2 gray on their side, but now our side looks soooooo bad... 
We obviously now need to go buy paint & paint it, but my question is: do we need to tell them that we're painting it? Part of me feels like we should as a courtesy, but the other part feels like they'll never know so why bother...

if the fence belongs to them you have to tell them. they own it and have a right to know.

Yea...I figured as much. I guess I'm just really annoyed by the fact that they did it to begin with. I cannot begin to convey to you how stupid it looks. 
Oh well, c'est la vie. I have more important things to worry about...now I just have to add another thing to our to do list
