I know that bend in the road there. It's very bad for pedestrians.
That poor man and his family. I can sympathize my mom died while crossing the street at dusk.
 
I'm so sorry to hear that Theresa!
Apparently he got a little confused while crossing, and realized he started to cross at the wrong time, and turned around to cross, but it was too late. I can't stop thinking about him, and the poor man who hit him. It could happen to any of us! The drivers life is changed forever now. My heart and prayers go out to him and his family because it is truly a tragic accident.
Yes, it is bad for all involved. Drivers do need to anticipate pedestrians more but pedestrians need to realize that it is very difficult to see them on our roads at night and we all have to cross at the light even if we have to walk out of our way.
And many people forget that the driver's life and his/her family's is forever changed as well. I can't imagine trying to forgive myself if something like that happened to me.
