My puppy cannot shake Kennel cough
After 10 days of Keflex my puppy still had a slight cough. He coughed here & there but it wasn't much. Now it's been a full month & his cough is back full force today. He is so sick. He coughs so hard he can't run around & even threw up. I gave him human Robitussin for comfort & it helped a little.
Im taking him to the vet first thing in the AM (I have to work today). I feel horrible. I know it's the original cough because he's not around other animals. Im so scared this will turn into something worse.
My dog is from a puppy mill & pet store. It's so sad how sick these animals can be, we are lucky our dog isn't sicker. I wish Opera would re-run her show so my husband & I could have seen it before we bought our dog. Now we love him so much & it breaks our heart to see him coughing & gaging.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and what you learned. I DO hope your puppy can shake this thing finally. I know how much you love your baby.

No real advice but i just wanted to say that we had a bad case with our new guy and i googled a couple of home remedies to try and ease it...I know how helpless you feel good luck and i hope puppy feels better

maybe he needs a different antibiotic? when hershey had kennel cough, our vet gave him Clavomax and it got better within a week!

we sat in the bathroom with the shower on to help break up anything that was stuffed up... maybe that would help?
I hope the baby is better soon!

are you sure its kennel cough?
when we got our dog she had it and it went away bbtu than she started coughing again. its whats called a reverse sneeze. shes 2 now and still gets it when she runs around.
hope your little ones ok and they get it cleared up
maybe try a diff vet.
