My update from 31 week visit this afternooon - Good news/bad news - UPDATED Friday morning
So I went for my 31 week checkup this afternoon.
Good news -  looks perfect! Measuring a week ahead of schedule and weighing in at a whopping 4 pounds, 2 ounces and is head down. Heart was beating strongly, lungs were functioning, and he kicked the doctor when he put the thing on my belly 
Bad news - My doctor is considering me to be pre-toxemic. My blood pressure was high and there were traces of protein in my urine (there was last week as well). I am now on modified bedrest and I have to do a 24-hour urine collection starting tomorrow. He wants to see me twice a week now for NST's and close monitoring. He is taking this seriously and I'm a little nervous. My mom developed toxemia at 38 weeks with her first pregnancy - she ended up losing the baby (he had a bunch of other things wrong with him, though - spina bifida, hydrocephalous, cleft palate and club foot and would most likely not have survived anyway  ) Needless to say, she is freaking out.
The modified besrest is what's killing me right now. He doesn't want me driving long distances, no grocery shopping, no housework. I'm SUCH an active person - he might as well have chopped off my legs.

I went back to the doc yesterday morning and got a good report.  My BP was down to 124/80 and I lost 4 pounds of water weight in 48 hours. My ankles are back to where they were pre-prgnancy - there is DEFINITELY something to be said for staying of your feet (as much as it's killing me!  )
The NST was pretty cool - got to hear the HB for a long time - I'll be doing those twice a week as well as having a quick sono each time I go to check 's growth. He also gained 2 ounces since Tuesday. My doctor doesn't think I'll make it to my due date, considering all of the swelling and stuff I'm dealing with now (in addition to the baby measuring a week ahead) - he's thinking I'll go a week or 2 early.  As long as is healthy, I'll do whatever it takes.

Listen to the dr. do what he says.
Rest for the remainder of the week and enjoy your shower Sunday!
I know it hard to be on bedrest but you have a legit reason so please take it seriously!!! Go to borders or the library and grab some books.
Looks like you will have him sooner than you thought especially b/c of the situation and the fact that he is measuring ahead!
Labor day baby perhaps????????

Sorry I'm on modified bedrest right as well until I deliver! I do know what you mean about being active! It's pretty much been me, my laptop, and the tv. Hang in there...it'll all be worth it when your little one arrives!

I am sorry V I am not on bedrest yet but I feel it coming. Everyday chores seem like a luxury.

The bedrest is worth it for a beautiful healthy baby. I agree with other posters... get some juicy books & rent some good movies & relax.

I have been on modified bedrest at home for the last 8weeks and I am so bored. I am not use to be stuck at home not able to do anything but it was worth it. It seems like forever but it will be over before you know it. Good luck with everything.

First of all, congrats! It sounds like is doing really well and soon when you are holding him in your arms, the bedrest that you'll have endured will all seem worth it. I hope the next few weeks go by quickly for you. Get lots of rest!

Oh man - that really sucks bigtime!
I'm happy that he's doing so well.
Bedrest has to stink, but you are doing the best thing for your little one.

hey, I remember we have the same dr!
- I had preeclampsia... at 32w i had a growth sono and he was estimated at 5lbs- big- not early...
at 35 1/2 weeks he was concerned about my blood pressure and sent me for testing at winthrop, and I was sent home- the next day I did the 24hour test I then dropped it off in the morning on friday and my bloodpressure check dr put me on bedrest- no more work.
-then monday morning- 24test came back and they called up for me to get retested at withrop and high risk would re-eval- they admitted/induced me and 27 hours later I delivered at 36w 3 day to a -- 7lb 6oz boy(yes he did have pneumonia, partial lung collapse, and jaundice- but on day 10 he got to come home and has been healthy since for the last two months!!!-- the health care has come a long way since our mothers gave birth, so just try and think positive thoughts. I remember having two early mc before this pregnancy so i was freaking out but everything worked out ok-

I'm glad he's being so cautious with this. I just love his demeanor and his genuine concern. Makes me more at ease, know what I mean?
Hope Kyle is doing well! He's a cutie!
