Oh Vanessa. I'm so sorry about the bad news. I'm hoping the modified bedrest is all you need to get through this. Please remember everyone is different even our own parents. What she went through isn't necessarily what will happen with you & your little guy.
With that said - how cute is your little guy? Love that he kicked the doctor when putting the thing on your belly. He's telling you he's ok & you'll get through it together.

I am sorry you are going through this. I had Preeclampsia with my daughter and deliverred at 38w. She was born healthy as can be!
The doctors will montior you closely and you will be fine

Try not to worry. Bed rest sucks, but you'll get through it. It's great that your doctor is being so proactive about it.
I was taken out of work 1 month early and put on bed rest b/c of high BP and severe swelling. I had traces of protein in my urine, but the 24 hour test came back normal. at that point, I was told that I wouldn't be allowed to go past 38 weeks. I took my hospital bag with me for my last few appointments b/c if my BP was too high, I was going to be admitted to L&D and induced.
I was not prepared at all for being on bed rest. In fact, we moved into our house while I was on bed rest (at 37+ weeks, 5 days before my induction). I just drove over there and went back to sitting on a couch with my legs elevated.
Just take it easy and hopefully you won't have to go on strict bed rest.

Day 1 of bedrest today. DH is away for work and will be back tomorrow night. My parents are coming over this afternoon and cooking me dinner and stuff - They are so worried

Hang in there. I was on bedrest from 35 weeks and it really sucks. Get some shows on DVD and some books and take it easy. I would literally feel my pressure rise when I started getting active. It'll all be okay. You are being monitored closely.

If you need anything let me know! I am always around and of course nearby
So funny because I also was on bedrest for my shower. Bring a foot stool with you. I didn't and totally regret it
Just relax and don't forget to put the urine in the fridge So disgusting

I know the bedrest idea is hard...take it from one of the most active people there are...but it's well worth it in the end.
Your Baby is healthy and happy and you want to keep it that way...everything will be fine!
