Mylicon Drops

So although my pediatricans nurse said not to give them to her with every feeding, I started to and they seem to be helping. She's releasing more gas (and more poops) and is crying less (thank goodnessChat Icon )

Anyway here's my question - she's sleeping better during the day, is that because there's something in the drops that make the baby sleepy? or is it that she's less gassy and feeling better so she's sleeping more because that's what newborn do?

Thanks for all your help during this difficult timeChat Icon

Drops never made Michael sleepy.
I bet it's because she's feeling better, she is able to sleep now in peace.

The same with my Michael. She is not in pain anymore so she is able to sleep better.

Re: Mylicon Drops

The baby doesn't absorb the Mylicon. It just sits in the stomach. That's why you can give the drops to them as often as they eat, and even a little more.

She's most likely sleeping more since there is less discomfort.

just wondering...does mylicon cure hiccups as well? Gillian is crying at night as well and I think it could be related to the same things you mentioned. I might try it with her.

Re: Mylicon Drops

That's why I suggested you use them with every feeding. I found with Alex they didn't work unless I used them consistently. If you shake up a bottle and you see all the bubbles and then just drop one little drop of the mylicon into it you'll see the bubbles disappear immediately. It's amazing...

But onto your question - the mylicon shouldn't make her sleepy. It's probably because her tummy isn't bothering her so now she can happily sleep. Enjoy it while it lasts! Chat Icon Chat Icon
