I don't think a boy name was ever picked out. I was supposed to be Caroline Sarah, but my father's mother died a couple months before I was born so they named me for her instead and made my middle name Carrie. My little sister is named Sarah.

Other options....My paternal grandma wanted Gaytana & My mother like Stephania
At the last min, they thought I was twins (the Dr heard 2 heart beats) and my mom said if I had been a twin, her name would of been Stephania, there was no way she was listening to my Grandma.
If I was a boy I would of been Aaron.

There were 3 Michelles in my class of 25 girls and I always hated that it was so common (or popular as I used to say). I guess it was because I was born right around when it was a hit for The Beatles.

Boy name: My mom was sure I was a boy and my name was going to be David
I think they made the right choice. I like my name and I only know a couple of other Pams so I never felt like it was too common. In fact growing up I don't think I knew any. I don't feel like Jill would have suited me very well.

They didn't know if i was going to be a boy or a girl but either way, my parents were off the boat italian and I had to be named after one of my grandparents. My Grandmother was really Antonia so my parents improvised and gave me my name.
I HATED my name growing up. It was so uncommon and I was picked on mercilessly.
I don't mind it so much now.

I'm a twin and my parents thought we were going to be boys until we came out.
Boys' names: William and Thomas (after grandfathers)
When we were girls, my mom was so overwhelmed that when they asked her for names she said Lucy and Ethel! Luckily my Dad vetoed that and we're Kathleen and Elizabeth--I would have hated Ethel!

My parents were told I had the heartbeat of a boy (whatever that means) and I was definitely going to be a boy. They had the boy name all picked out but I sat in the crib nameless for a while since the doctor was so positive I was going to be a boy. Mom was watching a lot of General Hospital while she was pregnant with me and looking after my toddler brother at the time so I ended up Laura.

My dad's choice: Elizabeth
My mom's choice: Kimberley
They knew I was a girl so they discussed names but if I was a boy, they were SOL. I probably would've been Daniel or something boring.
Do I think they made the right choice? Well, I could NOT imagine myself as an Elizabeth or a Kimberley (no offense to the Liz and Kims on the board  ) but then again I think your name shapes you... to a point anyway. So I guess Jill/Jillian fits.

I was going to either be Gretchen (greta for short) or heather
Paul if I was a boy.
THey decided on jennifer which my mom thought she was being original in 1973. As my mom was leaving the hospital the nurse said "that was the 8th Jennifer this week"
I do like Great but not Gretchen. But I do love my name

I could have been named Caroline (like it), Julie (like it), or Gloria (like it but would have sounded a little weird with my last name). Instead, my mom named me after herself (an old-fashioned name but I think it fits me even though I don't particularly love it, and found it annoying/confusing at times to have had the same name as my mother my whole life).

Other Girl Option: Jennifer (like every other girl born in the 70's) but my aunt was pregnant at the same time and also wanted Jennifer for a girl, so my mom said to use it!
