Re: Natural Delivery Recovery
Mine was close to 3 weeks before I was able to sit in a regular chair. if I had to sit in a chair with no cushion i had to sit on my leg. I couldn't even sit at the edge of the couch. It was horrible

I had "natural" with an epi but I had an episiotomy AND tore. . .
These were my best friends for like two weeks: tuks the numbing spray the water squirt bottle with cold*er water
I found leggings made the pain a little less (that could've just been in my head though) motrin every 8 hours, i think it was.
I would say the serious pain probably went away after a week and a half/two weeks.
Move slow Sit on a pillow. Keep your legs up.
Hang in there. . .you won't even remember the pain in a few weeks.
Ditto...Only difference I used warm water in my squirt bottle.

Re: Natural Delivery Recovery
I think I was able to sit comfortably by the time I left the hospital or within a couple days. I felt pretty much completely normal within 2 weeks. I had minor tearing & a few stitches but no episiotomy.
ETA: Dermoplast & tucks pads plus the warm water in the squirt bottle kept me comfortable. For sitting, if you have a Boppy pillow, try sitting on that. I did that the first couple days in the hospital. Big help.

You should give your OBGYN a call to see. I had an episiotomy and stitches but had no problem sitting at all. I gave birth Sat PM and was home Mon. I was only taking Advil for the cramps when I came home. My boobs were killing me though.
Same here! I used witch hazel towelettes (put them on top of the pad) and Dibucaine (sp?) cream as well as those cooling pads the hospital gave me.
I delivered monday also, congrats! I'm using the witch hazel towelettes, dermaplast, n peri bottle...everytime I use bathroom. I'm feeling better already. I only pat dry after using peri too. Good luck!

Re: Natural Delivery Recovery
Thank you so much for all your resopnses! It makes me feel a lot better. I'm feeling a little better, still can't sit that well, but have been using the dermoplast. My Dr said not to do the sitz bath :( They said by Monday I should feel a lot better, but I'm thinking it's going to be close to the end of the week.
